Hiii!

I’m using this thread to post anything I am working on or have completed! I want to improve my art and following some of the guidance I received on this thread before I changed it to an art dump have brought to light that this will help me gain some credibility! :)

Thanks for coming by n.n

a lot of people will set up pwyw (pay what you want) shops when they are first starting out, but if you want to set your own prices i recommend setting them based on how much time you put into each piece.

if you want advice on attracting interest to your new shop, ive seen other people first offer some freebies to gather more examples and show off their skills. i would also advise to just continue to draw, open a gallery, and youll likely get more attention over time. you can also link your shop in your gallery or signature

good luck!

Honestly, I would say if you're just beginning, RLC might not be the best option right now. Hone in on your style and improve your skills first! It's always a good idea to get practice after such as long a break as you mentioned.

It's also better to start with TBT/pro-bono projects because it will help you build a base of people who love your art and know you're credible.

As for pricing- I'd say about 10-20 TBT for a start. It's not much, but you mentioned a lot of limitations with what you're comfortable with. You can always boost your prices as you gain more experience.

Thanks everyone. I’m gonna change this thread to a place I can just post anything I’m working on so people can see :) before I start a shop!

if you want to sell something don't say, "I’m not good at this at all yet" imo

just being humble. Goes a long way imo

it's basically telling your future clients that you are selling them what you consider to be a bad product. that was the main reason i mentioned it. it could also be viewed as self-deprecating. i think what you edited the thread to is much better. good luck
