Pokémon Shiny Experiences?

Currently, I'm hunting for different kinds of shiny Pok?mon, and I'm curious as to how other people have found their shinies. I've had really bad experiences, and really good ones where I just get plain lucky.

What were your experiences? I'd really like to hear your stories!

Btw, I've been thinking of posting a shiny hunting guide. Think I should?

Here's a great story of mine:

My shiny that I'm most proud of right now is my shiny Metagross. I did not have access to the event shiny Beldum and therefor I had to look for one manually through the Platinum game my friend let me borrow. This Beldum could only be found in a specific area where they are said to be 'hoarding' according to this one character you talk to. I had to change my DS clock around 10-15 times just for Beldum to be the pokemon to be hoarding that day. Then, I had to go to this small area near Stark Mountain to find it. There is a constant sandstorm there, meaning my pokemon was gonna get hit every turn, and seeing shaking bushes was harder. If that wasn't enough, Beldum is steel, meaning False Swipe was very ineffective, and Beldum ONLY knew take down I think, so it hurt itself every turn. So I chained as much as I could for hours...and finally found one. I worked so hard to get it to stay into a pokeball, then it ran out of PP for Take Down. It used Struggle, which hurt it a LOT. Then by the time I used fling and restored PP, it used Take Down...AND DIED. I was so upset...then by accident broke my chain, making me start over from square one. I tried again...and finally found another one and managed to catch it. It is now a Metagross and I'm never trading it for anything XD

I've found a total of four random encounter shinies without looking for them. I found all of them when their respective games were still the newest Pokemon game.

Bronzong in Pearl version, deleted save that had it
Gastly in Platinum version, killed itself with Curse
Golbat in Platinum version, caught and is currently in my box as a Crobat in ORAS
Fomantis in Moon version, caught and is currently in my box as a Lurantis in Moon

Most of my shinies in my collection are legendaries that you have to soft reset for, or Pokemon that I hatched through Masuda Method. I'll giveaway Pokemon that I find in hordes or Wonder Trade... but I'll always keep Pokemon that I captured through random encounters as well.

First one I ever found was a shiny Lickytongue in pokemon silver, then shiny smeargle in Emerald, aften that I didnt find any until pokemon Y were I found a shiny Ursaring while looking for a normal scyther it made me want to look for shinies so I immediately went to shiny hunt for Mareep and I found one first try, yup two shinies in a row, the Mareep was in a horde though, but still.
Ever since then I've gotten lots of shinies from horde battles, friend safari, and lots of perfect IV shinies from Masuda breeding. My first shiny in pokemon moon was a wild Trumbeak, I was chaining Bounsweet for hours, but my ****ty Persian Got a crit which ended my 3 hours chain, went to heal up, when I came back shiny Trumbeak was right there.

oh wow XD I've only ever caught ONE pokemon through a random encounter without looking for it, and that was a shiny Flabebe. Now she is evolved and I'm planning to evolve her again at some point XD

RS: I found a shiny tentacool but had no poke balls
FR/LG: Found and successfully caught a shiny Voltorb at the power plant
Diamond: Encountered a shiny weezing at stark mountain but it used explosion -_-
Soul SilverCaught a shiny Zubat at whirl island caverns
Y: Caught and Masada bred shiny lillipup, zorua, froakie, goomy, and lampent

Nothing for Sun and Moon yet.

In my old Pearl game I managed to catch a shiny Spoink by chaining! Unfortunately I don't have it anymore.
In X I found a Shiny Clauncher with the chain fishing method.
In ORAS i found a random shiny Swablu while walking through a patch of grass. I also managed to soft reset for 2 shiny legendaries: Ho-Oh and Entei. Currently trying for Suicune, but still no luck.

The rest of my shinies was me being on GTS constantly...^^;

I only caught one shiny pokemon in ORAS and that is Roselia, I got a shiny Luigia from Wondertrade.

Red/blue/yellow: nothing seen/caught
Silver/Gold/Crystal: Red Gyarados doesn't count to me, nothing seen or caught
Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald: nothing seen or caught
Diamond/Pearl/Platinum: nothing seen or caught
Black/White/B2/W2: nothing seen or caught
X/Y: nothing seen or caught
ORAS: nothing seen or caught
HGSS: nothing seen or caught
FRLG: nothing seen or caught
S/M: nothing seen or caught

years of playing, hundreds of hours, COUNTLESS encounters and i have never come across a shiny pokemon! Any shiny I ever had was a gift from someone else....I can never quit pokemon until I at least encounter something :/

I never got any shinies until Pokemon X and ORAS, but here's the story behind all 4 of them I currently have.

In Pokemon X I decided to try my hand at using the radar so I looked at one pin on Pinterest to start. I really didn't care what I got so I went into a nice sized patch on the route right before the town where on the next route there's the daycare, and started radar chaining and eventually a nice shiny Skiddo was on my screen and I was so excited because I was trying to figure out radar for days.
So the Skiddo was the only shiny that I have that I ever actually tried getting but I always breed with a Japenese Ditto so I accidentally Masuda Method bred a shiny Patrat while trying to complete my dex in X, and I ran into a shiny Ponyta in friend safari while trying to see what was in that safari.
In ORAS the only shiny I have so far is I was training up Pokemon to complete a living dex and I encountered a full odds shiny Mantine.
And of course I have some 6 IV shiny *totally hacked* Pokemon from Wonder Trade.

My shinies, in history of first to most recent:

1. zigzagoon in Pokemon Emerald, the first encounter after being given pokeballs (!)
2. golbat in Pokemon Emerald
3. zubat in Pokemon Diamond
4. weedle in Pokemon Firered or Leafgreen
5. chained absol and vulpix in Pokemon Diamond

Despite extensive chain fishing, masuda method breeding, and friend safari hours (300+) I have yet to see any other shinies since Diamond.

My first experience with shinies was in Pokemon X. I decided to try out chain fishing, and was successful! The first shiny I saw was a Remoraid, but the first shiny I caught was a Chinchou. I still have it, and I refuse to evolve it. It didn't take me very long to find either of them, but chain fishing really limits what kind of shiny Pokemon you can find.

I was never a big shiny hunter until early last year when I started getting sick of running into shinies while unprepared. Examples:
Pokemon X: Shiny Eevee but no pokeballs at hand
Shiny Shuppet but I only had one pokemon on me and it was lv.16(I am so smart)
Shiny Roselia, but I KO'd it by mistake
Shiny Volbeat but DS then died

Alpha Sapphire:
Shiny Zekrom but no pokeballs
Shiny Mesprit but I KO'd it

The first shiny I caught was in Pokemon Moon, at Ten Carat Hill!
I caught/ found a shiny Diglett It was so early in the game too. I wasn't expecting a shiny at all X3 ..I know it doesn't seem like much, but I never encountered a shiny before, so I was super happy <3

I got a shiny Scyther from breeding and a shiny Vulpix from a hoard battle. I also found a random shiny Litwick, but later traded it for a shiny Liligant.

Recently I was at Petalburg Woods in Omega Ruby, dex searching either some male Shroomish or Cottonee using my Espeon Modest Synchronize. I needed a Modest male to breed with my Flabebe. I was also trying to hunt them with at least 2 or 3 perfect ivs, when suddenly one Shroomish turned out to be Shiny! I wasn't even going for a Shiny.

I seem to always get Shinies when I'm not trying or looking for them. Just like a random Shiny Espurr I encountered back in X.

I usually find some shinies when I'm exp grinding. Namely Tentacool (Emerald), Gabite, Pidgey (Y) and Exeggcute (Sun). Exeggcute also happened to have a neutral nature.
