I've noticed that making a shop is hard. Generally, people stick to the popular shops, regardless if the prices are dropped on the other shops. I just felt like saying that. I've noticed a lot of people (along with myself) who haven't gotten any attention on their shops. My question is to everybody reading this, why do you think this is the case? I'm interested to hear your opinions. Have a great day! :p

i suppose it has to do with their credibility - if the shop is so popular, then surely the service must be great and trustworthy! :p

Yeah, that might be one of the deciding factors on which shop to buy from. I suppose to make a shop and want to get great feed back, you would have to come up with a very creative and original idea.

Just start out with trades in Retail, TBT MP or the VTP, and your credibility and feedback reputation will increase. One of the first things I notice about people is how they have fared in previous experiences with forum members.

Well, what do you personally look for in any kind of shop?

- Firstly it needs to have what people are looking for. Nobody's gonna bother looking twice if you haven't got a wide variety of things to sell.

- Prices. The not-so lazy people will shop around for the items they want, bumping the thread for the lazy people in the process who will then choose the first thread they open with the cheaper prices.

- Aesthetics. If the first page of your shop is a contrasting mess (and looks like a unicorn ate and threw it back up again), then people will lose interest quickly. Or, if they're like me, then they won't even stay to even look at the prices due to the eyesore they've just witnessed.

It's only natural that people will choose the threads at the top of the page when buying, since those tend to be the more "active" ones. People don't always like to wait for you to come online either. Obviously don't bump your thread more than the forum rules say you should.

It's a competitive thing. You've just gotta offer something everyone else hasn't got and make it stand out.

As far as rep goes, even being a mod does nothing for it. I have one hell of a time finding stuff in the marketplace. So you're not the only one.

Keep your chin up, you'll make it.

When starting out I really didnt have a issue either o-o
Like Yui stated
Having a clean Setup is needed to Quickly skim through the list of what you're selling
IE: Dont be those people who post in pastel size 1 text, It is difficult to read( people are lazy, The effort to read xD)
Putting long list into Spoilers, I dont know about you but I hate Scrolling through a bunch of stuff i'm not interested in buying
Actually selling items people usually want to buy
-DLC are popular, Pictures, Unorderable items/Holidays items- Food DLC's are really popular along with hybrids
Selling at prices people wouldnt mind buying at
Being on at the Peek times also helps -obviously- Selling at this time would be terrible xD everyone is sleeping and EU is probably at work/School.
If you want you can check how I have my shop setup, - my shop- I have cute sprites that try to match what i'm selling at the spoiler xD, Though Atm my shop is closed until I stop being lazy and grow my hybrids ;o;
