Looking to buy an ipad pro 9.5 inch :(

I love drawing and graphic design soooo is this a good decision? lol help

when i went to the apple store recently, i just happened to test out the pencil on the ipad, and let me tell you- it felt amazing. the pen was heavy and it glides across the glass so nicely... i almost considered scrapping my old wacom and invest in the set in the future. but at the same time after thinking... a tablet that's designed for drawing has express keys that can be useful if you're considering to be professional. (i dont see 9.5 inch i only see 9.7 inch. ipad pro 9.7 is around 400-500 bucks? and you gotta buy the pen if you wanna draw which is 100 bucks totaling 500-600 dollars. with that kind of money, you could get yourself a real good drawing tablet.

One good tip to help you decide is to figure out the total cost of your tablet, then compare to other tablets with similar price. Look at reviews and descriptions and compare which is better built or has what you need.

I actually already have a wacom bamboo tablet. but as a graphic designer I don't really use my bamboo for professional work. i mainly use it for drawing which is what i do for fun. I think the ipad pro would encourage me to draw more though. I would love the ease of transferring a sketch to my computer especially since i have the adobe CC.

but also i want the ipad pro to showcase my graphic design portfolio :/ my bf actually has an ipad pro 13 inch though but i just feel so obnoxious if i had to pull that out during interviews ;-; and we don't live together so its inconvenient for me to keep borrowing his... but idk if I should consider it as an investment in myself ya know

awww, i know that feeling. but if the fear of being perceived as obnoxious for having it out is the only reason... if the size that's larger works better for you as an artist and easier to showcase as a portfolio, go for it.

as for actually getting the ipad, if it can double as a portfolio showcase then i think that's a lot better. ipad has features for quickly showing anyone your own website or portfolio. so it seems like you already have a few ideas other than simply drawing to use the ipad for, so since that's the case, you should go for it. since wacom tablets by themselves dont display portfolios, have wi-fi this and that.

maybe before you go buy it you can drop by the nearest appliance store where they have it out and test it out to feel which size feels the best for you.

Honestly if I were to choose between a Macbook Pro and an iPad Pro I would add the additional $$$ and get the MBP! But since you want it solely for drawing then I guess the iPad Pro wouldn't be a bad choice c: I've played around w/ it at the Apple Store and I agree w/ you--the pen is amazing and the strokes are on point~ haha
