So the fireworks on Sunday were amazing.
Like really beautiful. And I loved seeing all my villagers there. It was kinda magical.

But then there were a couple of villagers I realised I did not care that much for. Because seeing them there brought me no joy.

They were my snooty and peppy villagers.
I've looked through the list of all of that personality type and I've tried every one that I find interesting.

If I were to change my line up so that it was just villagers I love, i would not have either peppy or snooty and have a fair few jocks.

Would I regret this due to the lack of variety in conversations?

Also, while I want to change them so I can spend the fireworks with villagers I love, at the end of the month is my birthday and I know that you need high friendship with your villagers to get everything.

So yeah, I'm confused on what to do.

What are your thoughts?

I think it is worth at least trying out new villagers! It is so easy to change later on if you find the many jocks are too much, and I think if you have villagers you are not liking as much, why not change things up?

as for repetitiveness, I have found I do not miss personality types I choose not to have. The most I have ever had of one type at once is 3. But I was not bothered, because the villagers all seemed like distinct characters to me due to having very different designs, and were a personality I like the dialogue for.

jocks are super sweet, despite the muscle talk, so I think it might be fun to have a bunch of them!

I think if you see villagers that might bring you joy to have on your island you should try it! I was set with my 8 villagers on my island, but I couldnโ€™t find the villagers I wanted to fit the last 2 spots. I only very recently found the villagers I was set on keeping (they ended up being Chrissy and Francine).

I now have 2 peppy villagers, 2 snooty, 1 lazy, 2 jock, 2 normal, and 1 smug.

Donโ€˜t worry about having too many of one personality, if you like the villagers than it shouldnโ€™t be a problem. Every villager is unique. I donโ€™t find my snooty, peppy, jock, and normal villagers repetitive.

Like @WaileaNoRei said above, jocks are super sweet and Iโ€™m sure youโ€™ll enjoy having multiple jocks on your island!

At one point, I had 5 of the same personality because I liked the villagers, and it wasn't really working for me, so I went back to 3. I'm not exactly sure why it didn't work - maybe that personality started to lose its charm/uniqueness a bit because of the repetition or maybe I just missed the other personalities.

That's just my experience though, I know sometimes others have 4, 5, or more of the same personality and don't mind it.

I think the game limits the number of villagers who will interact with an event at a given time. If you reload the game, the villagers you observed would likely rotate. They're all computer code, so don't take it personal if a few didn't observe the fireworks. ๐Ÿ˜…

Other than that, if you're wanting to try new villagers, go for it.

it always irks me when my bones isnโ€™t out doing events i restart until his butt his outside doing things lol

if they dont make you happy then i think it makes sense to swap them out

Having 3 or more of the same personality is a little bit too much for me. Most of the villagers have amiibos so you could always bring them back later if you have the cards or use one of the amiibo services. But if you save your game and start it again, it'll randomize who is outside if you want to take photos with someone

You only need all types to get the diys & reactions cuz they're tied to the personalities so if you have all of the reactions & diys already or plan to get the diys via trading I don't see why you need to keep the villagers you don't like.

At one point I had 4 normals lol, they're so sweet in NH (I found them boring in NL).

Atm I have no peppy & I'm ok with that ๐Ÿ˜€

I wouldnโ€™t worry too much about personalities. I think having the villagers that make you happy count most of all. I myself am missing some personalities. I have mostly lazy and cranky. I missing peppy and jock.

I think normal villagers and peppy are pretty simple, so I donโ€™t particularly miss not having a peppy.
Mathilda, and rodeo are always doing exercise all over town anyways, so they seem to have a fitness hobby. That makes them seem also like jocks.

Iโ€™m enjoying the game now that I have most of the villagers I want as permanent ( I only have one slot undecided).

If you have all the DIYs and reactions that supposedly come from the various personality types, I don't see any reason not to get rid of the villagers you don't like. Right now, I've got an island with 7 wolves (snooty, cranky, normal, and peppy) and one bear (normal) and two cats (peppy). I don't have a lazy or a jock or a smug or a sisterly. And it's fine.

I know what you mean, it starts popping up in your mind more often the more you see certain villagers and aren't excited to see them, or even worse, dread seeing them haha. It's hard to decide whether or not to have at least one of every type or to go with ones you really like, even if that gives you some personality dupes.

I know you said that you've tried all of the ones in the personality types that you find interesting, but have you given thought to trying some that maybe don't seem interesting? They may surprise you! For example, both Rodeo and Antonio were not villagers that I anticipated liking, but they are actually two of my favorites now.

Hope this helps, Moritz! I'm curious to hear what you end up deciding to do!

I get bored of villagers all the time, so I know this feeling. If there are villagers that you're not enjoying having around, I say go ahead and find someone new. I always like to try and find a new villager who I have never had before to make it a bit more exciting.
I don't care too much about the personalities. Unless it's jock... because I have a strong dislike towards jock personalities. Then I don't care, as long as I like the villager.

If you're wanting all the birthday stuff, maybe stick it out till your birthday and then afterwards you can do some swapping :)

At the end of the day, do whatever makes you feel happy! ACNH is a sandbox game, so there are no hard and fast rules.

Brought back all my best friends apart from Quillson (sad days).
I also added Mott because I thought he would go awesome with Tybalt

Good call on Mott with Tybalt! I'm sure Quillson will manage to make a reappearance when the time is right. ๐Ÿ˜Š thanks for following up!

Its not like the dialouge in this game is something amazing. I have 3 peppies on my island now and while I used to not stand that type it has grown on me and I still feel like they are different even when they say eachothers dialouge a lot. Sure it can be fun with variety but I had all of them at first for a while and at this point im fairly certain ive read it all anyway. So have the villagers you like instead of following the type chart โ˜†
