I loved my GameCube and Animal Crossing, at the time it was my favorite thing to do for a really long time. But personally for me it would now be really hard to go back to playing it. My niece and nephew play it and really enjoy it, they are 5 and 2. They like it better than city folk because the GameCube controller is easier for their tiny hands. They just run around it and go in the villagers houses, but my niece has 5k she made all by herself. ^^ (Hehe I'm starting them out young) The graphics hurt my eyes sometimes and the moving water makes me nausea, I really enjoy the music they have on it though. Also they have Cleo in their town (a cute purple horse) that is super adorable, so that's always a plus. x3 If you have the money for it and think you will like it, then I would get it. It may be more simple than AC:NL, but it is still very much enjoyable. It is always fun to experience the games and how they were back in the day and see how far they have come. ^^
Edit: I'm not sure if you know or not, but if you have a wii you could just buy the game, a GameCube controller, and a memory card and play the game on it.
I would not, as much as I love the game. It's far too dated now for it to be incredibly enjoyable like it once was, the only thing it has running for it is nostalgia and the built-in emulators.
