EDIT: She wants to redo her hair, everyone that came to my town bought everything from nook, and there is barely anything left, so that's why she wants to reset...

i think time traveling is fair if you are only able to get on late at night and need to be up and about in the dayliht hours of the game to actuilly accomplish something. Lord knows my hubby has to work from 6pm to 4am and he tries to play at 4am and gets mad becouse nothings open... and i honestly dont blame him, so i time travel for him.

Or like today, thanksgiving... if your to busy with family today, i can see time jumping to do the thanksgiving event to be fair play, due that black friday isnt for everybody and what not. -nod-

But if its umping a couple months ahead, i say so long as THEY are the ones that clears the weeds... then i have no problems traveling to the year 3042...

it went to 2099 in the past games

You know what? Sure. I do it all the time. Nothing bad comes of it except roaches and weeds, things that won't affect your game badly. Now, I've travled as far as the game allows, and all that possibly happens is weeds and roaches. Your villagers don't usually leave, well not for me at least when I TT. Every time I play, I usually time travel for like 1 or 2 days. Nothing bad. It's perfectly fine with me, and I think you should let her. Nothing bad will come of it, and you can reset your time back to normal.

i'm inclined to agree with this. as long as you always play the game in chronological order.

i.e., you wouldn't actually be going back in time in the game, only in real life.
