Lately I've been considering restarting my town.

...But there's a lot of problems that I know will nag at me if I'm not 100 percent certain I should do it.

First of all, I have almost all my dreamies. Now that I don't think will bug me too much - in fact, the reason I WANT to restart is so I can make a cycle town (I only have one copy of acnl and all this talk of 'it can't work with two SD cards' and all this just confuses me), earn some TBT and then reset AGAIN to have a real town. However, if I end up arriving at my town and find I quite like the villagers there and like the map, my house, and everything else, that very may well change.

Second of all, I've unlocked pretty much everything there is to get. Fully upgraded the T&T Emporium, all the house expansions, all the shops, a house I love, villagers I love, and yet for some reason I want to do it all over again. The reason I'm asking everyone else because I did this a few months back with my old town... And regretted it. I don't now, of course - I love my town, but back then I was kind of bummed out. No shampoodles, no fancy stores, a tiny house and having to earn all those bells again...

Third of all, I want to reset almost everytime I get decently through the game. I think there's something wrong with me.

So whadda y'all thank? Reset or No Reset?

I could never reset my towns. I've put so much work into the town and houses. I feel like people who want to reset may not be all that happy with their towns, or they get bored and want that new town feeling. If that's the case, then I think you should go ahead and do it.

You don't need another SD card for a second copy. Unless both copies you have/want to get are both digital? Then I'm not sure. I have two cartridge copies and can use them just fine on one 3DS.

Strange, I've heard of people using two different SD Cards and switching between them, but when they do so one of their town's data gets corrupted and they can only use the new town save data.

To be honest, if the only reasons you were bummed was the lack of stores that is very easy to get around, people on here are always really nice to let you come over and use their services, there is also catalogging help and people who will sell you items you're having trouble finding. And if it is for a cycling town you wont really need to save up for a lot since you intend to save up and then reset again, so you could just use it as a cash cow basically. I know it's hard to reset a town, I did that with my first town because I had lost it for so long that I bought a new copy and had started re-creating a very similar town, and when I restarted I actually knew then how to plot reset and get my dreamies and all of the tricks and tips I didn't know before, which made it actually quite easy to get the town into shape after restarting! So really if you want to restart do it, I think it's a rewarding experience and it always gets me more into the game!

for more opinions you could easily just search "Should I restart my town" in the search bar and be greeted with over 100 threads that are literally exactly the same as this one

:)

You do make a fair point. Last time I reset I didn't know any tips, tricks, or anything useful that could help me get things back.

I was really tempted to restart my town for the same reason. Decided to trade in some old games I never play to pretty much get a second copy for "free." It's been a good decision, I like starting out with something new but also being able to go back to the old game. Perhaps think if a second copy would make you feel better about the whole resetting business?
