Hey friends! I've been contemplating this question for about a year now. I've been thinking about buying a capture card, but I don't want to waste my money if I'm never going to use it. I have already streamed other games in the past, which has earned me around 20 followers. I've streamed only on my Xbox, and I've played Minecraft, Fortnite, GTA, and some others. I think it would be fun to grow my own little community, but then again, I don't know if I'd have a consistent audience, or if I would be consistent. If you are a streamer, let me know how your journey has went!

This is just my opinion so take it with a grain of salt. I feel that the game has been out so for long now that it's unlikely to gain too many viewers, unless you have something really unique to offer during your playthroughs to encourage engagement. So many people have streamed the game by now so the market is pretty saturated, so to speak, and animal crossing in general is so slow placed it's likely hard to hold people's attention like faster pace games would. I could be wrong though, this is more just my opinion, personally I'd rather watch people stream something new or something more exciting/fast paced.

You must have read my mind because I was talking to friends about this only last night !! I too was thinking of streaming because I thought it would be interesting to start streaming from the perspective of someone who has played the game since launch. A lot of the streamers out there have been playing since the beginning and part of the charm was to see them starting out alongside us ... I wouldn't restart or anything, just stream what I do when I play, not every day though ... I agree with Spooky, though, it would have to have something unique to offer to get people to keep watching, especially now that there won't be the same level of anticipation for updates as there was before ... I like to think that I actually have a personality !! And who knows, others might like it ...

I disagree, though, that the market is saturated. A lot of people fell away from the game pretty quickly and a lot of the ones left are streaming for likes and views, rather than because they just like playing the game ... A lot of the channels out there are for news, hints, tips and build ideas ... Very few seem to actually play the game anymore !!

I watch hodge podge a lot because he streams a lot of games of the same genre but they're still all very different games ... Plus his voice is like an electric blanket in the depths of Winter !! Maybe, if you did start streaming, pepper your channel with different games too, like you did with the Xbox ... There are so many great games out there ...

At the end of the day, though, if you enjoy streaming to one person a week, then do it ... If it grows, then great, but if you think you're going to enjoy it regardless, go for it !! That's the whole point, just enjoy what you do ...

Very few seem to actually play the game anymore !!

You have a lot of fair points here. I wanted to add on to this one statement too - I have a feeling a lot of people don't really play anymore because at this point most of us have reached a level of completion and probably feel little need or desire to restart and/or buy a new switch to get another copy. I assumed it was an over-saturated game/topic since I am constantly being shown AC videos on youtube, and kind of assumed Twitch would be the same though I could be wrong. I was just basing it on how often I was fed AC content, though on a different platform.

I am not an avid Twitch viewer, so please take my opinion with a grain of salt.

If you think streaming ACNH would be fun for you — and your follower community — I think you should go for it. Especially if your goal is to grow a little group of people who can bond over the shared experience of playing AC. I think "blowing up" on Twitch is truly a crapshoot, especially for a game that's been out for a while. However, "cozy gaming" — relaxed, friendly communities built around down-to-earth streamers — are super popular right now, and you don't need to amass a huge following to benefit from that. If sharing your AC experiences with interested people is your vibe, then you totally should 😊

Here is a link to a Polygon article about cozy streams, if you're interested. They have a lot of articles geared towards people creating Twitch communities!

Best of luck to ya! 🎄🎁
