Should we make a UK trading thread or something?

Seeing as it'd cost a lot to trade out of the UK.

Or should we make a facebook group, as it's easier to post pics of cards and such there?

making a country specific trading thread would be a good idea. Sadly I live in Denmark so I can't trade with you.

I think a UK trading thread would be a good idea, I'm a bit uncomfy about people here knowing my Facebook profile and stuff. As nice as it would be to trade with people in other countries it would start getting expensive just sending one card so many times, I might trade with other European countries at a push...

What would be the easiest way to send the cards do you think, just chuck them in an envelope with a regular 1st class stamp or pay the extra to get recorded delivery? I'll probably go with recorded delivery so I know that the cards have been received and I'd have proof of postage if someone tried to stir up problems :3

I'd do regular first class but in a toploader, or one of those little carboarded envelopes. :)

I think having one thread could get confusing with the back in forth, although it would help the forum from becoming cluttered. I do know Justin is working on making a sub forum for trading but maybe instead just include your country/region of amiibo cards? Such as my thread i included NA Amiibo cards, same could go for others.

Would we be trading a card for a card? ie no money involved.

If so, then if there are problems, there isn't really any comeback, has to be a matter of trust.
We need to keep the cost down, so I would say 2nd class postage is acceptable, 1st class postage is a lot now.
Normal standard envelope (C5?) OK so long as its a good weight and you can fit a piece of card the size of the envelope in it, and write 'Please do not bend' on the outside: before you put the amiibo card in that is.

Given winter's coming we really need to waterproof as well (place in a freebie thin plastic bag? those used in supermarkets for putting in loose veg or bread rolls) or the cellophane that some bought cards come in, well whatever comes to hand.

And the whole has to be thin enough to remain a standard letter (otherwise postage goes up again as it would be classed as a small package) - has to fit through that plastic contraption post offices use).

Those card board envelopes (sometimes have 'don't bend' printed in red on the outside) are great - but cost.

Starts to look a lot of effort but the aim is to get it to the other person undamaged. I'm not sure all players will take this much care.

Another possibility is via those streetpass meetings that are still sometimes set up. So physically swop cards.

But posting is probably what will have to happen most.
Will mean swopping real names & addresses. I'd be willing to have a go, but then I'm an adult player.

I think the thing I'd like least is someone sending the card and not putting any postage on or not enough - boy does the PO charge when this happens.
