Signs don't translate on multiplayer

As some of you may know, I have the Japanese game.
I am currently in an American town, and the shop signs aren't translated - The signs read in English not Japanese.

Really? That's annoying! They've had since October to translate this

Oh, that's cool. If an American goes to a Japanese town, are the signs in Japanese?

I personally don't find this annoying, I find it awesome!

If I go to Japan, I would HOPE to see Japanese signs, not english ones
