Singing villagers

I have noticed that when I get a new villager they tend to stand around singing at first. But after a while they all stop. Am I doing something to discourage them from singing? I love it when they do.

How do I keep them singing?

I believe it’s randomly generated. I’ve personally found my villagers prefer singing in the summer but I’m not sure whether that’s random Some villagers sing more than others too, I presume it’s the same as the Naruto run, a particular trait the villager has increases the frequency of an action. Honestly I was shocked when spike started belting his heart out more than my other villagers considering his cranky personality but I agree, I love it when they all start singing.

Its at random. Singing is part of the Music hobby, one of the villager hobby traits so some sing more than others. I have Quillson and Phil on my island right now and they usually sing at different times. On my last island, I had three villagers with the Music hobby and sometimes they sung together.

Try setting up a microphone next to a music playing device(near the plaza is a good place for this)that's playing a song you'd like your villagers to sing.This should encourage your villagers with the music hobby to sing a bit more.I've even seen villagers without the music hobby singing into the microphone.

Oooo, I am definitely going to try this! Do they actually sing along with the music in the radio? So far they always sing the same song when they sing alone.

They sing every aircheck.One of them or multiple of them would sing one of the songs. Most of the villagers on my island have sung at one point. My villagers Flip,Sheldon,Aurora,Frita,Pango have sang and maybe Curlos as well. Butch who I also have can sing and I has sang K.K. Western which plays outside.Katt has sang. Blaire probably has.

A ton of the sisterly villagers have this hobby, alongside other non-lazy villagers. From Nookipedia, here's a list of those that can sing without being in the plaza or near a stereo: https://nookipedia.com/wiki/Hobby#Music

They are more likely to keep singing outside of Resident Services if they have this hobby. If there are multiple villagers in the plaza, they may also sing for an extended period. It's best to have a stereo nearby regardless, as singing villagers will most likely stay put if near one.

I have four villagers that sing (Cherry, Sprinkle, Butch & Roscoe) two of them sang together at the weekend! It was adorable. Cherry sings the same song over & over, she does it everywhere but the others just sing at the plaza. Butch sometimes gets an audience too .

I have noticed on Harmony that Sylvia is usually the only one singing. I plan on eventually making a karaoke bar on my island with a stage and a microphone maybe that might get my villagers to sing more. On my main island Serenity they seem to sing more.

I did this, and it worked! Within Seconds Raymond was singing K.K. Western! Not long after, Diva was singing, and then Snake! This makes me so happy!
