So after playing HHD for awhile

So after playing HHD for awhile I put in one of my copies of New Leaf and ran around my town for a bit. I realized that not being able to customize my character put a big damper in what was once pretty fun! Now that I know what can be, going back to the old just isn't any fun now. It was exciting to be able to make a character that was an actual person of color, not just a tanned white character, and to change their hair and outfit whenever you wanted. So I think my copy of New Leaf will go neglected for awhile longer. I hope this is something that future AC games will implement.

I agree with this, and I do think that some of the things from this game should carry over to the next real Animal Crossing game. And I am sure some of the things will carry over and that this game was basically to serve as a "teaser" of features meant to come in the future. I really love the customizing of the character too, even though as a super pasty person in real life, I enjoy being someone different time to time. The only thing I've kept the same day to day are the eyes I first picked but I change everything else a lot, for "work" I've been sticking to a **** Van **** esc red top white pants, red shoes and the white and red boater hat, with either a clown nose or glasses, haha. But I love changing my hair and stuff for when I go around exploring and taking pictures and changing my outfit wherever I go.

I would love it if in the next installment of the game the villagers pinged you and asked you to remodel their homes. I also hope that we are able to customize the outside of their homes like in hhd. It would be very convenient if you were given the surrounding area as a grid like in hhd to place their homes as well, it would help so much instead of plot resetting to get them to not be in the way of our paths. ^_^ I'm still playing new leaf, but I love the customization of hhd.

Well, technically they do ping you to redesign for them, but they get to decide what goes where and frankly they just never make good decisions xD

You're actually being a Japanese character, not a white character, in New Leaf. But yeah, I understand how you feel for the customization thing.

I hope they put most of the new features in HHD into the next Animal Crossing. I feel like HHD had to be an experimental-type game while they're working on the next new main one.
