I stumbled across this video accidentally and I thought that this is absolutely great to get Nintendo's attention as I believe this is something most Animal Crossing City Folk players are getting fed up of. So anyways for people who didn't see this video, he basically talks about the petition.

So what do you think of this? Approve? Disapprove? Partially approve?
Me, I signed it because if we show Nintendo how many people are annoyed at this, they might take action upon this.

Because it saw your face.

Anyways, Ninty ain't bound to fix our problems. They're bound to make more mini-games.

(and there are many, many more)

and this is nintendo's opinion on the matter:
http://forums.the-bell-tree.com?topic=7117308/1/
http://forums.the-bell-tree.com?topic=7098010/1/

my opinion:
if people let their towns get so bad (while they're watching it wear away every day...) without making paths and asking people to use the paths instead, maybe they kind of deserve it. it's like... don't put your hand on this extremely hot stove... and you do it anyway then complain? don't get it.

also, wanted to add this... like i've said before... here's another example...
mr. albert begins making *millions of dollars on icecream, and he has 2 flavors - chocolate and vanilla.
**6,000,000 people buy chocolate icecream.
***15,000 people buy vanilla icecream, and they hate chocolate so much that they think mr. albert needs to just totally do away with it so they never have to see it again.

*the amount of money nintendo is making off of this game.
**the amount of animal crossing: city folk copies that will likely be sold before the price drops below 60 US dollars, the regular starting price of most video games upon release.
***the probable amount of people that have signed this petition so far; it may be less, or more, but i'm too lazy to check.

...no, it's not happening. you're not even taking into consideration some major important things about this ridiculous petition...
- nintendo focuses on making primarily the japanese player base happy since they get most of their money from japanese players. this is why nintendo has more DLC for them, more nintendo based events with prizes if you attend, and game consoles and games are released sooner there - with unlimited supply, as opposed to our wal-marts and etc. only getting 6 wiis a week (example, sometimes it was even less than 6 in my city), when the wii first game out.
- this petition is only in english. english is not the only language on the planet people that play animal crossing on-line speak.
- the game is already released, and all games have features you may like or dislike. they are not going to undo something they spent millions of dollars to create. the most you'll get out of them is a promise that the future animal crossing games won't have this feature because of the sheer numbers of people complaining vs. the amount of copies being sold... the best advice i can tell you is to make a petition saying not to even buy this game.
- it would cost millions of dollars to undo this feature to make not even a fraction of the players happy... most players actually like this aspect of the game...

you don't see people making petitions to bring back NES games, to make your animal friends clap when you catch fish like they did in previous animal crossing games, to bring back the cute little voice that said nintendo when the game first started up, to bring back rred and the other random characters coming to your town even though they live in the city, and i could go on and on... point: there's a lot of crap in this game a lot of people don't like, but they take it and don't whine about it 24/7.

o my walmart got 3000 wiis and sold out in an hour..i got the first one i lined up i thought there were only 50 LAWL

I don't really agree that the majority of players LIKE this feature, from what I've seen most people are either neutral or negative on the subject. I'm not going to write a novel in my post but as some people have said, it's not 'realistic' as intended, and probably didn't work the way nintendo intended it to. (I doubt they wanted people's towns to be devoid of snow or grass, especially because their biggest supporters are likely the people who play ALL the time, and thus have this problem. I can't say for my own experience as I've only played CF for a few days, but it seems silly. what is the use if it doesn't make obvious paths like nintendo wanted it to? the feature is only bringing negative effects to heavy players. also, the petition is probably useless, but I'm glad it's there anyway. petitions in general don';t have .... much influence. in anything.

I don't know about how seriously Nintendo takes the issue, probably not very. And I;m not sure how a patch would work, especially for people not connected to the wifi network, which would be the cheapest way to patch as it doesn;t require printing millions of dvds. it might not even be possible to patch, depending on how the game software is. it;s not a pc game either, where someone could make a hack/fix for it, sadly. I don't see the effort to change this going anywhere, but I'd like it to.

it's not hard to make paths, and if you work with the feature and not against it, you do end up with little paths that i would never take out of my game. <3 if you ruin your entire town knowing you're doing it without even trying... well... i think you deserve it. :/

someone's going to hit you with a baseball bat in 3 weeks on the dot. you'll prepare for it and move... at least, i hope so. if you don't listen, and it does happen, when i moved out of the way to avoid being hit in the head with a baseball bat, what is there for you to say, really? when you knew i was coming, could prepare for it, and would rather make a bit deal out of you not avoiding an outcome you don't like...

if you don't move, well, maybe you deserve to get hit with a baseball bat to get some sense, lol. or in this case, have your grass wear away because you decided to just watch it all go poof instead of making little paths as a guideline in your town. <3

Yeah loads of these topics but...
Nintendo won't do anything,
They haven't replied to any of my emails.

hehe, nedrian I like your little metaphors a lot XD

I agree in theory, for people who know it's going to happen, by all means, prevent it. If you don't, it is your fault.

I just think it's unnecessary for the most part, as you could always make pattern paths (more time-consuming though)

and little worn down paths are cute. I've been sticking to paths since I started, seeing as I knew of the problem already.

(random: my wiispeak just came! :D )
