So how do I get Filly's Request?

Do I have to have my 3ds open AT the hotspot and take the request? Or can I just go to it, and then return home and do the request?

Yes, you have to have it open at the hot spot. You have to go check the 3DS that's on the second floor when you're at the hot spot and you should then get Filly. You could always close your 3DS after that and go home to do the request. That's what I did.

Wait, you have to travel to a hotspot in order to get Filly's request? I keep checking the DS upstairs and it just says that I've already completed all there is for now.

Nintendo Zone. Typically a McDonald's or Best Buy. Someone said in the Felyne thread that they got Felyne today from Best Buy, so Filly's last day may have been yesterday. Someone who doesn't already have Filly would have to go check.
