Haven't got the game just yet (it's coming, yay!).

Just a "for fun" spot to talk about plans for people's towns. I know some got a theme in mind, so feel free to share and spread ideas around.

Pretty much settled on naming my town "Altair", probably going to be more "mountain/forest" themed. Haven't got a clue on what the flag should be (if there is one in this game).

Hoping to get windflowers and other stuff for undergrowth here and there.
I plan on having "city district" where all the shops and stuff are around the town hall area, then let villagers sorta be semi-organic in their house placement beyond that. Entertaining the idea of having small "park" area where flowers would be in beds and have bamboo there.
And as weird as it sounds, a goal is to see if I can get two t-rex fossils outside my main house to be a "gate" of sorts.

I got two dreamies, being Freya and Audie. The former has been queen of my villages for years and this newcomer is welcome to join the ranks of "Pink Wolf".

Other than that, probably just gonna see what shows up in my village. How about you guys?

My plan is to reference as much of one of my favorite series of all time. RWBY. I currently have three villagers who I feel can represent something from the web series. Hans, Judy, and Rory. I also have Lionel who I might keep as well.

idk and it honestly stresses me out :( my nl town never had a theme because i only really got into the game once the majority of the town was built...i know i do want a more foresty vibe but also pink/white...idk still stressed :( lets see if/what future updates will bring because for the mean time, im just gonna breed my hyrbids and build the basic shops!

I like very simple, minimal, natural towns. I don't plan to do major revamping, just tweaking it here and there. I tend toward mellower residents with cute, cheerful colors and personalities. If you're going to live in a fantasy world with anthropomorphic animals, might as well do it up, right?

Of course, I'll be queen of the mountain. The pond and waterfall next to my house, and the next level down for a terraced yard. I might have a little stream wander off to the side, one tile wide. A residential center right off the airport, residents in a neighborhood or two, campsite off in the woods, and some little parks connected by winding paths.

i think i'm gonna kinda break my island up into 3 sections.
1st section: main portion, kinda like a city. it's the part of the island that i could access day one. i think i would like to make it more modern/clean looking and not as wild as the rest of my island. i plan to put all my shops here, with no people or villagers living on it. i'd like to have the beaches on it have furniture on them. i'm also going to plant only cherry trees here as they're my native fruit, but i'm undecided on whether or not i also want to plant only my native flower (roses) as well.
2nd section: the left most of my map. it has a random lil second layer part that i'll probably get rid of because it's taking up a lot of space. i'd like to put a park here, and maybe make a hiking trail or something. my house will also be in this part, and i'd like to make it in front of my private beach and stick it in a valley. i'll have to get rid of some cliffs and rivers though, so this plan's on hold for now.
3rd section: the top right side of my island. ideally i'd like to put all my villagers here in a neighborhood, but currently it's too small. i feel like even with terraforming the area around it a lil won't really help it, so i'm kind of at a loss of what to do. maybe i can have my uchi and jock villager living out in the wilderness with me because they wanted to rough it out first, but i kinda want to live by myself. there's also the issue of all my villagers congregating there, but so far it seems that everyone kinda spreads out or walks to the "main" section anyway so i may be fine.

this probably isn't the final iteration of my Island Plan; i've changed it so much since picking my map lol. the only thing that hasn't changed is my plan for section one and wanting to live alone, though. i imagine those will stay throughout all my plans.

I'm going to name my town 'Ajisai', japanese for 'hydrangea'.
I'm planning a somewhat japanese theme because I've always just been enchanted by the aesthetic.
Call me a weeb if you want. *shrug*

Planning to have a nice tea/ garden set up outside the main house.
Lots of bamboo and hyacinth.

Also planning a 'shopping' district, but the rest will sort of change and fall into place when I look at my map.

Pekoe is my only 'set in stone' villager, though I certainly have my eye on others.
(Cyd seems cool, for one.)

Planning to reroll town for a native fruit of peaches or cherries , whichever comes first.

I just named my island Hawaii because I didn't want to overcomplicate things and fall out of love with an elaborate name, also my Wild World town was named Paris so I thought keeping things simple would make it feel nostalgic.

I thought because of the name I should go with a lot of colorful flowers and bushes, but I might just go with whatever I like. So far I've placed buildings wherever I feel like placing them, but I definitely found a better place for my own house because I got inspired by another screenshot on here. I really like the towny vibe, but I also love a floral/natural feeling.

Ideally I'd combine town with island, but I'm barely creative. I really loved the vibe of the first night, but you can't really get that throughout the day. I think I'll go with floral/cute/natural.

A valley with the shops, an orchard, a park like rustic area, maybe a few spots with villagers clustered in groups of 2,3. Sonething like that. I hope to get a rustic feeling, with a lot of wood and water.

I named mine Solstheim (Elder Scrolls reference for any other fans out there!) but I hadn't originally planned to go with that theme until a few days in. Now I kinda wish I named my island Morrowind, since I've given my island the Morrowind theme as a town tune and Red mountain volcano as a flag. I want to try and make my island look slightly? volcanic. I know that'll be kinda hard but every stone item I place outside is being customised to be dark grey or black to try and make it look like basalt rock. I'm using lots of red flowers as well since I can't really put lava around the place, lmao.

My house is on a hill in the back left of the island and I really hope I can make it look like a castle of some kind after future upgrades!! On the level below I'm putting lots of waterfalls and stair cases up to the museum, and I already have a paved area and red flowers surrounding a hot spring on the way up to the museum so it's coming along well and looking quite cool. (Yes, I TT'ed. Sue me). I'll probably have a specific area for shops, but I want to scatter villager homes around the island. I think I'll also wall a lot of my paths.

In Autumn when mushrooms show up, I really hope I can craft mushroom lamps and place them outside!!

i haven’t figured everything out yet but i’m planning to have a super colourful town - fruit trees everywhere, tulips everywhere, etc. i’m also gonna put the shops up on the cliffs and have seasonal decorations and stuff aha

I'm planning on making a big part of my island Venice themed, with lots of rivers, bridges, and little islands. Six or seven of the animal villagers would live in the main "residential area", which consists of lots of small islands, with enough space for one or two animals. For the rest of the animals, I plan on placing their houses a bit more randomly around the city area so that not all of them live in the same area. Maybe I'll put a bigger lake somewhere with an island in the middle and one of the animals shall get the privilege of living on that island. Then Nook's shop and Able sisters will be together on one island, and finally there's the island with the museum and all the other smaller shops like Kicks and Gracie's, when/if their shops become available.

This residential/city portion of the island is located in the southwest half of the island. Then, on the rest of the island I'll have parks and recreational areas (I do still try to fit small outdoor recreation areas in the city area, maybe a small park even?) which slowly turn into an area with a more national park feel. This area will be located in the northeastern corner. I want this corner to have a very natural feeling, maybe there's a log bench or two, but something that really feels like it's away from the city, so people can go there for a picnic or camping.

I still have to wait and see how much of this is actually possible with the landscaping tools, which hopefully unlocks soon! The islands should be possible, but I don't know what the limit to the amount of bridges is...
