Spirits of Autumn - Romance/Fantasy/Suspense

I'll write a synopsis later when it gets further into the story.

I'm currently too lazy to proofread any mistakes which means I probably shouldn't post it but boyoooh. Feel free to point any mistakes.

"I can't believe it, I wonder what she is going to tell me?" He sat there, buried in the weight of agonizing anxiety and curiosity. All the possible scenarios ran through his mind like a movie on fast forward. His body was trembling as he brought his hands in his pockets. Was it the cold or his excitement? A cold breeze blew by, blowing his scarf and cutting his face like a knife. His face was red from the cold, and he constantly coughed. "This is possibly the coldest autumn I have ever experienced." He grimaced and scoffed. "Why am I even waiting on her in this cold weather? It's probably not even what I think it is." The light and joyful immature expression on his face quickly faded to that of a doubtful adult. He had been waiting for fifteen minutes, and not a single sign of her was present. He looked down at the ground and pulled out his watch. "Alright, I'll give her 5 minutes until I leave."

It was the fifth day in autumn. He was sitting in his first grade class. Bored, the clock began to grow stale and his eyes dry. He had been staring at the wall for a century. He would rather grow bored instead of having to listen to the lesson the teacher was teaching the class. The day felt like it would prolong for forever. The silence of his mind was quickly broken from a knock on the door of the class room. "OOH! It appears the new student is here!" the teacher squealed in excitement. "It's always nice to see new faces!" she said with a genuine grin on her face. She may be boring but she was the nicest teacher he had ever had. The girl stepped in, and his eyes grew large and his heart raced. She was the most beautiful girl he had ever seen, not that he liked very many. He always thought girls were the bane of his existence. But strangely, he felt an instant attraction towards her. Her hair was the color of the leaves of fall, she had them up in pig tails and she was wearing a huge smile on her face. Her cheeks were pale red, and she was wearing a sunflower dress. She talked in an innocent voice, but she tried to talk with some assertiveness but she couldn't through her frail voice. "Hey! My name is Emily and I'm new here. But don't think that's an excuse to leave me out of all the fun!" Those words immediately disappointed him. She was a sucker. As he sat there with an upset face, she spotted his despair and ran up to him. "Why so grim, Jim?" He blushed and gripped his shirt tail. "Uh, uuh, uum..." She looked at him with a strange unsatisfied face and said, "Well, you're not the talking type are y-" "NOT TO STUPID GIRLS LIKE YOU!" The teacher was stricken with shock and immediately tried to send him to the office. "No miss teacher, it was my fault for disturbing him. Besides, I should have expected no less from a stupid boy." She looked at him, stuck her tongue out and proceeded to her seat.

It was the fifth day of autumn again 10 years later. He was standing waiting for that very same girl. He wanted to admit his feelings for her so bad but didn't want to risk their friendship. He was hoping she felt the same way and impatiently waited for her. But he never saw her that day. He angrily went home. Treading against the wind which cut like sharp knifes. His hands in his pockets, his face buried in his scarf and looking at the ground; the wind blew his scarf so that it never touched the ground. And the first orange leaf of autumn fell to the ground from the strong winds that pierced into his very soul.</div>

<div class='spoiler_toggle'>Chapter Two: Omens</div><div class="spoiler" style="display:none;">"Aren't the leaves of fall so pretty?" She lost herself into her own mind, only to be interrupted by Michael. "I hope you know you're gonna fall standing on the wood like that." She looked down at him and let out a giggle. She then looked up into the sky. "I wouldn't mind falling if you fell with me." He didn't understand what she meant, did she have a death wish for him? He thought for a second, and still stumped on what she meant, he asked her "What is that suppose to mean?!" She looked at him with a smile, the innocence of her face the only thing to provide him warmth through the cold autumn. Ever since she moved to his town the wind blew more in the autumn and less in the other seasons. All though being friends for two years since first grade, she was still a mystery to him. She looked back up to the sky and said, "You'll never understand girls. You'll just be alone all your life." He looked at her like she was crazy, paused for a second, and finally said, "Ha! Like I'd ever like girls. You are too hard to understand." He hopped up onto the wooden hand rail along with her. Their hair blew into the breeze and for a second they were disconnected from the world. Lost in their youth and innocence, they knew nothing about the world and cared for none of it. They were alone in the woods in which they walk home to. The bridge in which they stood on hovered ten feet above a water stream. Ever since they became friends in first grade they walked through the woods. It took longer but was much more scenic then walking through the small town in which they lived.
He lie on his bed pondering about what had happened today. He was never so mad her. He couldn't believe that she stood him up. What excuse would she give for this? What kind of irresponsible human being would stand up a close friend. Didn't she know how he felt about her? He sat remembering all of the time he spent together with her. 10 years of his life.
"4:00PM" the clock read. He jumped up and went to confront her at house. All feelings of anger and spite flowing through him. His sorrow turned into hatred and fueled his body and mind. His muscles tensed and he clenched his fist. He couldn't stand her anymore, the thought of her, the look of her, or the memories they shared. No longer able to stand her, all the feelings he felt for her disappeared. He grabbed his coat and scarf and began to walk to her house. The woods were like they were eight years ago when they stood on the bridge. The wind was stronger though, and when he walked past the bridge he saw himself and Emily conversing on the wooden hand rails. The bridge was weakening from the bugs, water, and wind. The once new bridge from when they walked through the woods is nothing but an old memory. It was almost completely gone. Something hit his cheek, he quickly felt to see what it was. Water? He looked up, the clouds have never looked so solemn. It began to pour and rain pattered against the leaves. It didn't seem like the time of year to start raining.

Gahhh this is so good so far! =D Romance, suspense, it sounds like it's going to be a fun read. I eagerly await the next chapter.

Well here is chapter two. I might write a chapter to some of the other stories I'm planning to write.

Hmm

It'll probably be one of these unless I think of something better.
