[Solved] Anyone have experience moving Islander to a new Island ?

So I got my second Switch today and I've moved my alt character over to the new island. I'm worried about something now. I'm at the part where I must choose a map. If I quit the game to regenerate the maps, will my character data be lost forever? The character has already been moved, so it doesn't exist anymore on my main Switch.

I did not like the maps, so I had no choice but to reset. This answers the question. Nothing to worry about. Nintendo did good
