Some kind of dilemma

Hi.
Sorry if this is in the wrong area but I wasn’t sure where to ask. Before I get outed again for posting the area... *sigh*

So I was doing a trade to catalogue some items for NH for rattan items but the person told me to send a dodo code, so I did - thinking they would have it. But they only had two things/variations.

And then they messaged me that their switch had ran out of battery but the issue here is that 1) they didn’t have all the items 2) they only had two things 3) their two things are in my island and I don’t want it because I only asked for catalogue and I’m not like that.

They also added me as a friend on switch but I don’t want to bc I don’t know them and they said they will send me the others but you can only send 2 items to someone and 5 to yourself in one day.

I was giving them my shell fountain DIY for cataloguing (BUT IT WASNT EVEN COMPLETE) and they left by -, so their 2 things are still in my island.
I don’t even want to do it anymore but there’s items that’s not mine.
I feel like they were trying to scam me but it didn’t work out.

Not to mention, I don’t give a damn because it’s a game. You’re not going to lose any money.

But this person is definitely wasting my time.

I’m just so confused and wasted so much time on this person.

You cant catalog DIYs so that would need to be a purchase unless they are just trying to have more items just shown in catalog for the achievement... which there are much easier ways to obtain.

If they are your switch friend, you can mail them back the items via dodo (200bells per mailing...) then remove their FC from your switch. You wouldnt have the items nor have to struggle with doing another meet-up. Then when they contact you again, just say you are no longer interested.

No.. I think you misunderstood. I was giving them my shell fountain as a tip for cataloging the baskets.

Well, that's a good idea. I messaged them again and they never replied, asking them to give me their dodo code as I didn't want the same thing to happen on my island, but they never replied but showed it was read... so I guess it's stuck with me...?

Ah. Yes, i misunderstood. Didn't read it as giving them that as tip. Read it as them cataloging the recipe. I swear I read that twice and still was too dense to catch it even the second time. Lol.

There are a few people who are just reeeeeally bad at communicating (you can tell people you are busy or can't right now, come on ppl. >.>) so mailing them may be the best bet if you want to be cleaned of the mess.

That's okay. Sorry if that may have come up rude, didn't mean to be rude at all. D:
Just because I noticed some people on here are, it has never changed since I joined. So I'd like to point it out and thank you for being so kind.

I know, and I've already told the guy that I had to go because I was helping my best friend take care of her puppy. But then he would have gotten what he wanted by befriending me on the switch... I just found it so weird because what I understood is that I could catalogue them, but when he came to my island, that's when he said he would just send it if I added him as a friend on the switch, not on the forum/dm.

Maybe I'll befriend you if I was talking to you for at least 3-6 months I guess, but not just for a trade, right?!

And when you catalog, don't you normally do the whole set or some items that they have on hand, that's already been discussed. It was just so odd in general.
