I hd to send my wii in for repairs to nintendo, and i have no idea when it will be back. I'v been trying to work on the stupid thing for several weeks, and i finally gave up and im sending the stupid thing into Nintendo... and hopefully they'll keep my animal crossing data... if not then i'll need assistance getting all the fruits back -_-;

I sent in my Wii last year because of getting SSBB. I put it in the mail on a Weds. and got it back the following Tuesday. And it was during a holiday weekend (Easter).

Also they kept all my saved game information. They did format the Wii, so I had to redownload all my Virtual Console games. They also gave me a new Wii Console number. But all my saved game data was still in tact

I've had no problems with my Wii. & I got it 20th April 08.
:)
I remember cos it;s 4 days after my confirmation.

I wonder if it's possible to ask them to keep the Virtual Console games and other things while they repair a Nintendo Wii?

No, they have to erase them. But you can redownload for free from the WiiShop Channel

They pretty much give you a free download ticket in the wiishop channel to redownload

I had to start each game fresh, because it was removed from the system. The saved data is within the game itself.

Cool, so what's the Wii System Memory with my Animal Crossing and VC Games, is that a seperate part?

Yes the actual saved game data goes right to the Wii console in the saved data section. But the VC games are seperate. You still keep your game data. I dont know about games like Mario Kart Wii which dont allow you to move the saved data to another Wii, because it was before Mario Kart Wii came out I did it, but I know when I played Twilight Princess, I picked up right where I left off before sending the Wii in

You see, my friend's Wii had to be sent in to be repaired and his Zelda: Twilight Princess, Mario Kart Wii and Super Smash Bros. Brawl data got completely erased.... 0.o

I guess it depends on the severity of the issue and what needs to be done in order to fix the Wii. All my data was fine, but it was just a simple fix of the lens, they still gave me a new console number though

No it isnt... it is saved on the wii data files... i would know cos i must have erased and re-downloaded super mario 64 about 8 times, and i had the same amount of stars i left off from.
