there were some great buzzer-beaters today, and a few huge upsets.

Buffalo blew out Arizona in what was the 2d biggest opening round defeat of a top 4 seed in tournament history. (also ended the Pac12's participation on the very first day).

but the best buzzer beater was this one by Loyola-Chicago, over the University of Miami:

that was an amazing upset they pulled in the first round indeed. unfortunately, they got knocked out today tho.

there were a few upsets today tho, north carolina and michigan state both got knocked out-- i cant stand those programs, so i'm glad to see them bounced out.

my pick to win this whole thing has been Villanova, and that still looks like a strong possibility so far....
