So I just realized something in New Leaf, Im pretty sure Isabelle mentioned that she had a house... yet she doesnt live in your town. So I was thinking what if in the switch version of the game special NPCs (Like Tom Nook, Timmy, Tommy, Isabelle, etc) actually had houses in a separate part of town that you could visit, like some kind of way to visit them off their hours. I know they have Rvs but I think it'd be kind of cool if you were able to visit them, and have a regular conversation of sorts. Thoughts / Opinions?

This would be cool! Do you mean it would be in a separate section in the way that Main Street/the campground is? I think that could work well!

Yeah I was thinking in a way that Mainstreet and the campground work that way your village isnt overly crowded with houses everywhere (Or there could be two parts to the village, that might work as well)

I think.it would be weird if they had a whole neighborhood where all the shopkeepers just conveniently lived.

Maybe all the stores have an upstairs area where they live and that you can sometimes visit. It would be less weird. Tom nook lived in his store in the gamecube version (Japanese e+ Edition, I believe)

Something like where the Happy home showcase was in nl where digby used to manage

(And yes, that’s right, if you hit the door with a shovel a few times after shop hours he’d let you in to buy stuff, but at a higher price)

Id like Isabelle to request a PWP that adds a 2nd floor to the town hall that she can sleep in so she can work for longer.

Then once you build it and pay it off, she asks you to design her room for her like in HHD

This would be really cool - maybe a different area could be open each night of the week for a couple of hours after that store closes?

This would be neat! I was actually thinking of an idea that somewhere along the side of your town there is a path that leads to some separate houses where the NPCs could live, but the idea of the second floor of the shops is pretty good too. :)

to be honest it'd be cool to have a similar feature like the easter-egg in the japanese version of the original animal crossing where you could hit nook's store door with a shovel for it to open and he'd be inside, maybe with re-tail or whatnot, it'd be cool.

i'm not sure about having a living area for the animals, but maybe seeing them wander around your town after hours when they closed their stores would seem pretty cool.

I think having a top floor to shops/bottom area for them to stay would be really cool. But for them living freely in your town, I'd think they could have an apartment type area for them to live. Free in town might be odd, though.

Overall it's a cute idea.

Ooh I like this idea! I’ve always wanted to see Isabelle’s house (mostly I’ve just kind of wanted to see her take a break though)

the idea of the npcs having visitable houses sounds very cute! i also love the thought of them wandering around town in their free time because i really enjoy talking to them when they're drinking coffee at the roost. it was there that i eventually started kind of liking phyllis? she just wants to do her job and take care of her sister! plus hearing main street gossip from lyle is also fun and everyone just sounds so interesting?
