I may take advantage of this considering I just created a Steam account for the first time several weeks/months ago, but I have... absolutely no idea what to get. I'm into a lot of genres besides puzzles and rhythm games, so just hit me up with recommendations if you have any.

I have trouble coming up with many... i got this there more. Well portal games obviously. Portal 2 is really fun with a friend. Battlefield series is like 2 bucks right now. I reccomend bad company 2 tho u can get that for free. Theres modded servers since EA shut down. I dont know if I could reccomend a good online experience ive been out of the loop for a while. Peggle is 1$. Ah, halo master chief collection is 10$. Oh man, a game from my childhood had a new release. Riven; the sequel to Myst. Its an extraordinary puzzle game. I guess dark souls series as a whole if ur into violent RPGs. Multiplayer coop is promising. Cant speak for pvp cept in 3 where its mostly fightclubbing prob: condenced areas ppl know is best to fight in. I dont think some of these reccomendations are for u tho. I dont have much else on my repituar
I might get this ridiculous game called Fractal Block World. It is VERY surreal but looks pretty fun. There’s a video about it by OrangE on YouTube that’s really good too. It’s also loosely connected to the existence of Minecraft.
I’m also thinking about getting OneShot, but I’m still not sure.
Edit: also, Terraria is on sale for 5 bucks anyone who hasn’t played it should be forced to and this would be a convenient time

I'll definitely have to look into some of those. Dark Souls I'd love to play, but knowing me I'd probably get stuck on it early cause skill issues, LOL. It's funny because I have a few friends who tease me about that from time to time. Portal 2, Battlefield series, and Peggle I'm definitely going to take a look at though.
i have a few things in my cart that i'm planning to pick up
1. AI: the somnium files - i've been wanting to pick this up for a while but keep procrastinating on it but it's like $4 so this is better time than any to buy it. it's a mystery visual novel that has pretty interesting gameplay and story
2. the rootrees are dead - a point and click mystery/detective game. it seems pretty interesting from what i've seen so far so i'm excited to try this one
3. loco motive - randomly ran into this one but it looks really promising. a pixel art style mystery game that reminds me of another game called the case of the golden idol. it has pretty good reviews as well.
4. final fantasy rebirth - this one has been in my cart for a long whileee until i have enough energy to play it. i will definitely play it just not sure when yet.

I havent plays darks soul 1 other than entry parts, and none of ds2. I think ds2 would be perfect for coop so im saving it, and ds1 is hard lol. Idk its cool tho. I havent picked it back up again, I fell off it. I went all the way thru ds3 that one is Fun. Elden ring might be one to consider if u have to pick one since its the newest.
I made fun of my friend cause he kept dying when he first got into it and it made him mad and upset at the game. Which is entirely understandable, I didnt realize I was making him mad at the time. I go thru it too and I feel like when Ive had enough; so Note: when you feel like giving up, give yourself a breather and try again whatever you gotta do, make the commitment unless its just not where u wanna be. Most of the time Id say like, well u should let it go or try something else if its not fun, but Dark souls is an exception. Its quite a learning experience especially if you can feel welcome and keep having fun. All dark souls players know, they bled to reach where they got xD. I just cant say you Should bleed to get there.
and peggle is awesome gotta get it is a dollar. I played with with my friends too back on xbox when it first came out in multiplayer.
Theres secret ways to get bad company 2 for free. Unless its on steam, i didnt look. Multiplayer is fairly active in there. Look up project rome for BC2, and for battlefield 3, Venice Unleashed. Theyre modded servers u need to play

Decided to pick up Undertale. I played it a lot when it first came out (through broke highschooler means lol). It's still one of my favorite games ever and I've been meaning to replay it before Chapters 3 and 4 of Deltarune come out. Need the refresher for any possible easter eggs or lore tidbits that might appear.
lmao same sorry toby i was a risky teen back then. It's been almost a decade since I last played this game and I am itching to play it again after the recent revival in hype after the large discount. I do want to play it in a specific order, and also finish the most difficult route of the game which I haven't done before because skill issue.
Asides from Undertale I'm not really sure what else to pick up... there was a small sale about 2 weeks ago and I got Later Alligator and Hypnospace Outlaw, plus I've been meaning to 100% Stray so I got a bit of a backlog lol. I don't have any games I'm actively looking to buy, but if I change my mind I might get The Roottress are Dead? Saw it randomly with really good reviews and I do love a good mystery game so I'll probably check it out. It's a little out of my budget right now though so I'll have to mull over it.

If you like some mystery, I loved Return of the Obra Dinn. The plot is not hard to follow but figuring out identities and tying them together to fates is very satisfying and can have you stumped for a while without feeling dumb or cheap.

Lethal League Blaze if you have anyone willing to play with you, it’s stylish and easily understandable but still intense. You NEED a friend for this because it’s a fighting game from a few years ago (and those don’t keep a big playerbase) but please don’t think because it’s a fighting game that it’s unapproachable mumbo jumbo, it’s more or less tennis (despite being baseball themed) and you have to bat the ball into your opponent. I wish everyone had this game and that it had crossplay, because this is my ideal party game, but alas
Undertale. How could I not for that price?
But when I play it again it'll be with a physical copy (on Switch) which has been waiting for almost a year now.
I thought about picking up a few games to add into my library, but I'm honestly too preoccupied this summer tbh with stuff that is going on irl, so it may be the end of the year or next year before I'd actually get to whatever I pick up from this sale. So I might as well just wait, I think.
Games I was eyeing to pick from are, Gato Roboto, Melon Journey: Bitter Sweet Memories, Paper Trail, 100 Keys to Your Heart, Minishoot' Adventures, Animal Well, Anton Blast, Isles of Sea and Sky, Arranger: A Role-Puzzling Adventure.
I had Gato Roboto in the past via Switch and 100% it and loved it and would like to play again and just have it on hand tbh.
So maybe my little list will help others maybe? The Sale is ending in a few hours though.
since fallout new vegas is my favorite game at the moment and has turned me into a massive fallout fanatic, i decided to take advantage of the sale and i bought all the other fallout games aside from fallout 76.
i bought fallout 1, fallout 2, fallout tactics, fallout 3 game of the year edition, and fallout 4 all for $20.
i was originally going to buy fallout 76 as well since it’s only $10 but i really didn’t want to spend $30 in total plus i want to play all the other games before that anyway. i know steam usually has a summer sale too so i’ll probably get it then.
My backlog of PC games is still massive from the last Steam Sale, so all I bought this time was Cyberpunk 2077. I'm glad I waited on playing the game until getting a decent PC because the only platform I had to play this game previously was the PS4, and the version for that console is not considered a decent port.
