I'm not going over history (like tracking dates) this time, but I will go over how I made the town. Just letting you know, my town has been going through some changes that makes my journal more inaccurate for being out of date, but I'm still going to stick with what I had in my current dream town version.

I may have gone over the parts of StarFall in this entry, but I'll do some reviewing. Like every town, StarFall has two sides of the river. The north side of the river isn't necessarily "north" of the river, but I call it that since that whole piece of land is north of the river at the section where the waterwall flows into the lake. The south side of the river was called "the south side" for the same reason - it's all south of the river section closest to the train tracks.

I had a strange uniform for planning the town. When it comes to inhabitants, all animal villagers live on the north side of the river whereas the south side of the river gets my human characters. As for attractions, I at least wanted one major landmark south of the river. The Café was my best bet, so I had the Café built south of the river as the Police Station and Campsite is on the other side of the river, where Town Hall, the Plaza, Re-Tail, and the heart of the town (Main Street) are also on. As for projects, all my benches, lamps, and clocks had the modern motif north of the river as the more unusual projects are south of the river.

The reason why I try to make the south side of the river more special is because when I first saw the map during town creation, there was nothing to begin with. It's also cozier and easier to plan projects.

Overall:

Both sides of the river have some things in common, but the similarities have differences as well. The first similarity is the paths used. When I created the town, I laid path patterns all around town, planning on what to walk on when I publish my dream town. At first, I had stone paths with no boundaries since I don't have the QR code machine unlocked for Jenny and Penny. When I did, I designed path patterns with darker stone boundaries. All of the patterns are designed by Kaylee, but she only gets to hold onto four of them. Jenny holds the horizontal boundary patterns and the four corner patterns. Penny holds the vertical boundary pattens and the four inverted corner patterns. Kaylee gets the center pattern and the narrow path patterns that go through arches. There's hardly a difference in paths at all.

The second similarity is the trees. Both sides of the river have the five fruit trees (apple, orange, pear, peach, and cherry). But they aren't quite similar. I had eight of each fruit tree south of the river, but north of the river, each region has their own fruit. The acre north of the river, but south of Town Hall is apple territory as the oranges dominate the area between the campsite and Town Hall zones. All of the cherry trees north of the river are in the plaza region. The pears dominate the Eastern Road, as the peaches dominate the southern road. Around Town Hall, I grew lemon trees. There are no lemon trees south of the river, but I do have perfect cherry trees around the Crossroads Clock. The pine trees are in the campsite area and all in one row next to the train tracks. The oak trees gets the next row. Finally, I have the banana palm trees on the southern beach and the coconut palm trees on the eastern beach.

The third similarity is the flowers grown along the paths. I exclusively use tulips since the tulip is my favorite flower. So either side of the river has tulips. But they are different too. All my tulips north of the river are red, white, and yellow. Some sections of town can be broken up, as these mini-sections or large sections has the same color tulips. So if you see two different tulip colors, you're on the edge of a section. The south side of the river is nothing but hybrid tulips. Unlike the north side of the river, there's no section dependent. They are mixed with a pattern. If I divide the entire south side into rows and columns, then one row gets orange and black tulips while the other row gets pink and purple tulips. There are patterns in rows too. Column-wise, one column gets orange and purple tulips as the other gets pink and black tulips.

There's no more similarities, but I can talk about the choices of my bridges. My Train Station, Town Hall, and bridges follow the same motif my streetlights, benches, and clocks north of the river have - modern. The three bridges are:

  • Waterfall Bridge - the bridge furthest from Main Street. I needed a bridge near the waterfall to the south beach since I didn't want to walk all around the town to get to the other side of the waterfall.
  • Seasons-Café Bridge - I also needed a bridge to split the Eastern Road in two as the area east of the Café has some reason to pass through.
  • Crossroads Bridge - the closest bridge to Town Hall and Main Street. I needed a shortcut so I don't have to walk all around town.

The North:

The north side of the river is the majority of all the land in my town. It has both beach ramps, all my villagers, Town Hall, Police Station, Train Station, Main Street, and the Plaza. I tried making every project on this side of the river follow the same uniform. The three streetlights on the Eastern Road between the Plaza and the Seasons-Café Bridge and the two streetlights in front of Town Hall are all modern streetlights. I spaced then apart, but not too apart, so animals can't move on my paths there. The bench between the Re-Tail and town bulletin board is a modern bench. I needed one there since I like to add some place to sit down at as there's something next to the holding pond. I built the other modern bench in front of the holding pond next to the campsite. I built a modern clock next to the latter bench. Of all the PWPs north of the river, the only special ones besides the Campsite and Police Station are the flower clock and windmill. I wanted a windmill next to the waterfall as I built a flower clock along corner of the Eastern Road and Southern Road.

The Campsite area was the unique spot north of the river. Even if the Campsite is only 3x3, the whole area bounded with the paths is my Canpsite area. I have a holding pond, eight pine trees, a few sweet olive shrubs, and red tulips to make it look like a perfect camping area.

The Plaza area is full of white tulips around the Plaza, cherry trees, and a path to the tree.

Last of all, I will name the regions north of the river:

  • Town Hall Region - every land north of the river and west of the Plaza except for the Campsite area. The Train Station, Re-Tail, and Town Hall are all part of this.
  • Campsite
  • Plaza
  • Eastern Road - all land south of the Plaza and next to the cliffs along the beaches.
  • Southern Road - all land south of the river, but on the same side of the river as the regions mentioned above. The Police Station and windmill are part of this.

The South:

The south side of the river is within the river, not beyond the river. Although I saw a few villager plots as I used the reset villager trick, no villager officially moved south of the river, just like how I planned it. The projects there are more unique, but some are starter projects.

The four streetlights are all street lamps. I put two of them in the Space Castle Plaza to add some excitement and some drama. I put a fountain in front of Kaylee's house so nobody could move in front of her house, but it was also to add excitement. The other two are along paths near both the Crossroads Bridge and Seasons-Café Bridge since it would look nice if there was a lamp along a bridge.

The lighthouse and tower have their own sections to add some attractions. In the Crossroads, I added a path to the left to build a tower. Between the Crossroads' main path and the tower area is a solar panel and a wooden bench. The lighthouse was something I wanted along the cliff near the waterfall. The reason why it has a stone tablet nearby is because there was a loophole where animals could move south of the river. To prevent that from happening, I had to close the loophole.

The illuminated arches were placed in front of Jenny's and Penny's houses since I wanted some exciting entrances to the characters' houses. An illuminated clock was built as a mini-plaza between the Crossroads and the Seasons-Café region. And the other two were added as scenery.

To summarize this whole section, here are the regions south of the river:

  • Space Castle Plaza - the southwestern most part of town. Kaylee's house and the fountain are part of this area.
  • Crossroads - the northwestern part of the south side of the river. Includes the path to the tower area, the tower area, and the clock near the Seasons-Café region.
  • Western Road - the region south of the Crossroads and east of the Space Castle Plaza. The lighthouse, illuminated heart, and illuminated tree are part of this region.
  • Seasons-Café Region - the thin strip of land bounded between both rivers. It has Jenny's house, Penny's house, the illuminated arches, and the Café.

I'm actually done describing how I designed my town and the order I got things done in town. Maybe I should go over the history of my museum donations next entry.
