The first contest is over. As of the results, Caroline was the winner, Sheldon was expelled for cheating. If you want to know why I picked Sheldon as the baddie, it's because he is one of the more hated Tier 5 villagers by the community. Caroline is my favorite, which is why I made her the winner. I'm gonna drive this blog to the second contest - the Snowmobile Design Contest.
As a result of the contest, Caroline, Marshal, and Blaire left the carnival with their trophies, ribbons, and discounts. Two hours later, Mitzi, Rosie, Katt, Ankha, Mac, Biskit, Shep, and Butch stood in front of the doors of the giant igloo with a snowmobile race track behind. Tracy opens the doors to let the cats and dogs in. After they closed again, Tracy got in the way to make his speech.
"Thank you for participating in the Snowmobile Design Contest," said Tracy. "For the next three hours, you will be building your own snowmobiles. Here are the rules. One, after hearing about what went wrong with Holly's contest, all eight of you must stay separate to avoid conflict. Two, helping out each other is not allowed. Three, your snowmobile needs to be functional without causing problems, full of features, and beautiful in design. There is a race course, not for racing, but to test your snowmobile. I will be judging your snowmobiles. The one with the best snowmobile wins the contest, and an advantage to Friday's contest. Also, you can take your snowmobiles home. Are you ready? Then start building!"
The eight contestants got their own stations in the igloo. Mitzi wanted to make a Valentine's themed snowmobile. Rosie wanted to make an ultra snowmobile that changes its functions between car and snowmobile. Katt wanted to do a Christmas themed snowmobile. Ankha wanted to make a neutral winter themed snowmobile. Mac prefers hot rods. Biskit wanted to make a jumping snowmobile. Shep has a preference for water skiing. And Butch isn't fascinated in special functions.
When Mitzi was working on her snowmobile, she preferred to do Valentine's since the winter carnival is in the month of February. The primary color of the snowmobile is pink. The seat and the stripe color on the sides are red. The rods, tread, and all the mechanical parts are white. A light-up heart was on the front, as it can only light up when the snowmobile is on. A speaker that plays love music and pop music was part of the driving controls like a regular car.
Rosie's snowmobile was not an actual snowmobile, but it was more of a sled with wheels. The rods for sliding were long enough for both the front and back, as the wheels are behind the rods, but more to the center. She can raise the rods to make it wheels only, or lower the rods to keep the wheels away from the ground. For the body, it was mostly snowmobile-esque. It was both green and black with strip lights on the sides. Yellow means the wheels are active, but the red means the rocket engine is in use. She attaches a rocket engine to the back when she is ready to use the rods.
Katt's snowmobile was a similar to Mitzi's. She had a red body for snowmobile, but with green chair and stripes and white lights. The rods, treads, and engine parts were black like a normal snowmobile. The speaker plays Christmas songs.
Ankha's snowmobile is just a standard snowmobile. It was white with light blue seat and light strips on the sides. It had a purple snowflake on the front too. But the special feature is that it can fire snowballs. Like Rosie's snowmobile, it has a special part attached to the back. But it was a cannon with blue and purple part of the color scheme. There's a snow tank too where it picks up snow as the snowmobile moves. Ankha can use the snowmobile to shoot snowballs.
Mac's snowmobile had a hot rod design. The whole thing was black with red lights at the front and a dark red seat. It had flames as patterns on the sides. The special feature it has was that it can cast fireworks. A mortar box is on the back, behind the driver's seat. It is tall enough to create fireworks without hurting the driver.
Biskit's snowmobile was like Rosie's, but it had two treads and four rods, and it can twist slightly as it turns. The real special feature is that the rods can pop in, but only to pop out fast to jump. The snowmobile was blue with pink stripes.
Shep's snowmobile is exactly like Rosie's, but the difference is that it was blue with light strips that are white. The rods never pop in like Rosie's, but they can float in water. They're even stronger than the body itself. The snow resistant wheels can help the snowmobile move on land and in water.
Butch's snowmobile is a regular snowmobile. He doubts that he will win, but he doesn't like adding gadgets. He has an orange snowmobile, but overly decorated with pink stripes, blue stars, and has a red seat. Still no gadgets, but a better design for the car.
Rosie didn't rush, but she was the first one to finish her snowmobile. Mac was the last. Even so, he was finished five minutes before the deadline. When the time was up, Tracy went back into the igloo.
"Alright!" said Tracy, "time is up! You are now to test your snowmobiles. I will be judging based on how functional they are, how cool they are, and how durable and resilient they are. The builder of the best snowmobile gets a golden snowmobile trophy, a blue ribbon, a large toy snowmobile, and a chance to play in Friday's contest. The second place winner gets a silver snowmobile trophy, a red ribbon, and a small toy snowmobile. Third place winner gets a bronze snowmobile trophy and a yellow ribbon. Also, top three get ticket discounts for the rest of the winter carnival. The test course will open. I'm gonna roll an eight-faced die. If it lands on your picture, you go first."
The first one to go was Butch. He tested his snowmobile and rode around the track. It was a standard snowmobile, but it had a nice design. Ankha went next. She used the cannon to shoot snowballs at some area. She did it in the same spot to build a snowman. After three shots, she stopped just to decorate the snowman. Third was Mac. He drove three laps, but released fireworks on the third lap. Shep went next. There was a lake in the middle that didn't freeze. He used his snowmobile to cut across on the third lap. Biskit was fifth. He drove around, jumped on top of snowy drifts without bumping into them, but it didn't work well. Katt followed Biskit, and Mitzi followed Katt. Rosie was the last one to go. Of all the snowmobiles, hers was the best-working one. It had no failures.
In the end, Biskit got in last place for having a poorly functional snowmobile. Butch went in seventh for not having cool gadgets. Katt got sixth place. Shep was in fifth. Mitzi was in fourth. The top three were Mac (third place), Ankha (second place), and Rosie (first place). Even if some didn't win, all were permitted to take their snowmobiles home.
One hour after the contest, the Winter Carnival closed for the day, and cannot open until February 10th, the third day of the week.
