I noticed that it has been two years and five months since the last time a new group has been started. There are two group add-ons left in stock right now, and not one has been purchased since the last restock (which was well over a year or two. I understand why the price should be 42,000 TBT, but even if TBT gets active again, if more TBT enter circulation, and if people aren't discouraged by the price or the pooling in of TBT, nobody wants to start a group or help start a group anymore. I remember a long time ago that people demand that groups make a comeback, but they don't seem to be cool anymore.

I would suggest that they should come up with improvements for the group feature, or just retire the add-on completely. It seems that people like making Discord groups now, but I prefer traditional group discussions like on this site over texting-like chat sites. I also like seeing more chat places on this site.

I like to collect and purchase add-ons. The only two unique ones I'm missing are the avatar height extension and the Group add-on. I even purchased the username change and the 50 envelopes add-ons. I know the avatar height extension was made staff-only and will not be made available for all, even in a time when the community is less active, but the group one, it just seems like nobody wants it anymore, like the basic shop collectibles or even some of the newer collectibles. Plus, I've always wanted to start a group since the beginning.

What's your opinion on groups and the current state on groups? Do you like them, hate them, have any suggestions etc)?

I liked the idea of groups at first. When I was finally accepted into the Team Popsicle! group I was excited. Now it seems like no one cares anymore and group coversations/activities are obsolete. Therefore, I feel investing 42,000 TBT would be a waste, especially in the current economy.

I agree. Since there are fewer TBT Bells in circulation, they should:

- lower the price back to 4,200 TBT so they can sell faster
- if it sells out, do not restock until a new AC game comes out on the Switch

I was denied to the White Feather group after I acquired a white feather and I'm still salty

Did you know why, or do you still not understand? When I read through that group restock petition thread, I found out what the White Feather group was.

literally the only time I might check the group page(s) is during the egg hunt

otherwise, it basically just doesn't exist

It's really disappointing that nobody liked groups anymore. Do you think they are obsolete because of Discord, or is there another reason why groups aren't cool?

It probably died because no one could afford to make one that fits their interest. Lowering the price now won't change anything.

I joined a bunch of groups that were related to topics that I enjoy. But then all the users didn't respond so they were probably dead and gone for a long time before I came around. I do like the little groups (they are more like a club than discord) but no one ever uses them so it's not any fun...

All of the following is my own opinion, not staff but like I never really liked groups as a feature. It's something that sounds awesome in theory, but when we got it implemented it never really took off. I don't recall seeing many people use them and honestly I never felt compelled to check on them since I don't think we received notifications for them. It's why thread groups that had off site chatrooms took off, because you could get notifications from LINE, Whatsapp, Groupme, Kik, Skype, Chatzy, Discord, etc. Notifications keep people engaged and if you don't remember to check groups, there's nothing keeping you engaged.

Groups suck.

They used to be 4200~ TBTB which was more reasonable but I don't think they're even worth 500. They're basically a worse forum board. An "official" Smash bros thread has better options and organization than a group centered around Smash bros for example. You can't even rename the group that is now worth 42,000 TBTB, you'd have to buy another. The best part of them was that the owner could regulate who joins and who doesn't, which is really just an ego thing and why groups were even ever popular. Like some secret club.

Well I am already funding for a group. Should I cancel the funding since they aren't popular and stick to the thread group, or should I keep trying until I get the funds?

Lowering the price may not change anything, but since they aren't popular, they should make it sell out sooner. Sometimes, staff intentions don't match user demands.

Haven't you collected funding for years now?

I decided to cancel group funding.

The feature needs to have an improvement, or the price should be lowered (especially when TBT in circulation is lower). I wonder what the admins are going to say.

Yeah, I think Discord and the forum in general killed this, considering how inactive the group "forums" are and most people just have it for display if it's a private group. And yeah I think 42k was unfair considering the tiny interest in it and groups being dead.

Groups are pretty inactive right now, I would love to see them get a "rework" to where it encourages people to visit and post in them more often, maybe make them do more on the forums, or at least make them more appealing to newer members so that at least group chat can be revived.
