...Yeah. I've had my main town for three months now, and up until early December I've been playing for 2 months straight. I've kind of lost interest in the game, and I don't really have motivation to play anymore. I'll go play every other day (I'm never going 2 days without playing bc I love my villagers and Isabelle guilts me), but only for like 10 minutes when I used to play for at least an hour.

This is what I do basically

1. Check my mail
2. Talk to my villagers that are inside their house or outside (I don't feel like searching for the villagers I can't find anymore)
3. Go to T.I.Y. but never buy anything
4. Sell or throw away stuff my villagers give me
5. Do quests for them and then shut my game off

And I have a bunch of fossils to dig up. I finished my fossil collection so I just sell them at Re-Tail, but now I can't even be bothered to do that. if you want to come to my town and dig them up yourself 'cause you need fossils, lmk. It'll actually give me a reason to go online lol

There's lots of I stuff I still need to do, like unlock the Emporium, unlock Katrina's shop which I didn't even know existed until last month lmao, and place paths around my town to make it look nice and give it a DA, but it's starting to feel like a chore, like it's not really a game anymore?

I don't want to reset either because three months of my time has gone into this game, and I love my current villagers and I do not want to go through the hassle of getting them back. Any help?

When New Leaf was first released, I played every single day for three months straight. I got a lot done, but I burned out. Just like you have. Take a break from the game- a long one. If you don't want an abandoned-looking town when you return, go to the town hall first and enact the Beautiful Town ordinance. That will almost completely stop weeds from growing and flowers from dying. Then just put the game aside for a while. Eventually, you'll become interested in it again. That's certainly happened for me.

if you feel like it's become a chore, maybe take a big break from the game? i don't think its worth playing if you aren't perfectly happy while doing it :) just make sure to stop a villager from moving before you leave so that nobody jumps town on you while you're gone :')

i hope you get over your funk!!

I would recommend taking a break if you feel it's becoming a burden to play. Pick up another game for a month or so (or even longer) then go back to ac, maybe you'll have new ideas when you come back! You could also try totally re-landscaping? Change your town's entire theme. I've done that before, just rip everything up and redo it all, if you're worried about rafflesia spawning just leave a few trees (I personally got rid of all my trees and it never spawned for me but that's just anecdotal evidence). You can focus on other things in the game as well, like earning badges and doing the daily meow coupon tasks. Redecorating your house entirely or making a whole new character and focus on them and their house is another thing to do.

I think what you need is a little hiatus. Search up guides online on how to do that and start playing your other video games. For me, I like to play the game loosely, and I allow many of my villagers to move out, simply because I want to freshen things up a bit.

Do you TT at all? My advice would be based around that so I should ask first. :lemon:

thank you!! maybe I will take a break, I just have to make sure none of my villagers move out :p

I didn't know what rafflesia was so I had to look it up and ew.. I don't really have a theme going on in my town so maybe I'll think of one? taking a break is a good idea but at the same time I don't want to

nope, never have and never will

Ah, then I doubt I'll have anything to say you'd be interested in. Time traveling one day at a time and then back again every so often livened up the game for me a few months ago after a long spell of not playing, for the same reasons you say.

A hiatus is not a bad idea! You might get the itch to play again if you resist picking it up out of boredom for a few weeks.
