Stupid Colencath

I hate that thing, I know I've found it at least 5 times, but im too freakin slow to ever catch it. Anybody have any fast fishing tactics? Is December the last month for these too?

Fish never bite more than 5 times. So if it have nibbled 4 times, you can get ready for a quick reaction the 5th time. However, make sure you're still alert the first 4 nibbles.

there's not much to say other than what Away236 said. maybe if you also had a silver fishing rod it might help. also, the Colencath can be caught any day and month of the year, it just has to be raining or snowing in your town.

ive noticed that right when the fish are going for the last bite, they take a little longer backing up from the bait to go in for the bite

so when you see the fish moving slowly back and takes a little longer, try to get it then

I'm pretty quick at catching fish. I use the A button when fishing because moving the wii remote might mess me up and take to much time.
