We need to get rid of postcount and ranks.

Without postcount or ranks, this ungodly amount of spam would be lowered, people would be making more intelligent posts, and there would just be a general decrease in some of the idiocy that takes place here.

You see how people have sixty to seventy posts a day? That's just outrageous. It needs to be stopped. Doing away with ranks and postcount will undoubtedly increase the general quality of both members and posts, in turn making The Bell Tree an overall better place.

But what does postcount matter? What does how many times someone has posted matter?

And plus, you can still check how many times they've posted by looking at a user's posts.

Yeah to be honest i never seen a point in post counts, ranking a little bit saying you just joined a site but the count serves no purposes really.

i dont even care about post count. i have never called anyone a noob because their post count is low. or worshiped anyone with a high.
maybe this would help. but alot of the spam would still be going on

I think that either way people will always be competing for whoever has the most posts, etc.
People just need to learn to get over that. I haven't kept track of my post count in months.

I personally have nothing against the post count. I'm completely neutral, but I do like the change of colors...

I agree. We do not need post count. I think that the reason people post so much is to get a higher post count and feel like they are more special than other people on TBT. It shouldn't matter if you have 5,000 posts or 200 posts everyone should be thought of as the same on TBT.

I do like the name change color, but I am sure something could be worked out to make a different factor control the color of your screen name.
