Hello and welcome to my art corner! I'm pretty new to art as a whole, but last year I got an iPad, Apple Pencil, and ProCreate, and I decided that I wanted to really give it a shot. I've mostly done digital landscape paintings up until now and have had a really tough time when I've attempted character art since I didn't draw that much growing up, so I'm still trying to figure out proportions and such. I don't quite have aphantasia, but I'm really bad at picturing images in my head that don't exist yet (and also bad at picturing anything in detail in general). But nonetheless, I'm determined to be able to do something artsy, because my heart longs to create something.

I have literally no idea what happened to me today, but I was actually able to draw something that I'm really happy with... my New Horizons character! Which is very out of the ordinary for me, since normally my character art is so yikes and I'm so used to sticking to landscapes! So, it only seems fitting that it be the first thing that I share here! I might post some of the landscape paintings at some point, and if I draw anything else I'm brave enough to share, I'll post it here!

I've always loved how Wild World had that planet image with all the trees and buildings and characters sticking out of it even though it was so small. So this is pretty inspired by that... it was challenging! Pretty good practice for perspective. I'm also not very good at shading and like to do things the lazy way because I become impatient quickly, but I think it turned out okay.

I'm planning to make recolors for the other seasons! Winter at night, spring in the morning, and summer afternoon.

Fun fact: Everyone I've shown this to thus far says that their favorite part is the sky... I am genuinely amused by this because the sky took me all of about 12 seconds, and the rest of it I worked on for several hours. That's always how it goes! Personally, my favorite part is the palm tree!
