Wacom is generally a very highly respected brand. My first tablet was a Wacom Bamboo Pen, and since then I've had an Intuos3, and Intuos4, and now currently a Cintiq Companion 2.
The current line of Intuos (Intuos Manga, Intuos Draw, etc) is essentially the rebranded version of their old product line, Bamboo. I believe that if you are just starting out, the Intuos will be a perfect fit. If you want something of similar quality, but don't want to spend as much, their older brand works just as great. The only downfall of getting an older brand, is that although it is cheaper, you would probably be getting a used version, not a new version.
However, one step above the current Intuos Draw, etc would be the Intuos Pro. The Intuos Pro is also a rebranded version of their old Intuos3, Intuos4, and Intuos5 brand.
Wacom kinda made their new brands a bit confusing since they named their old models the newer models if that makes...any...sense...lol...
So anyway, so like The Zephyr Guy said, you could find an Intuos5 for around $100 now since it's now considered their "old brand." Plus they look VERY similar and have the same exact pressure sensitivity as their rebranded Intuos Pro. Only major differences is their aesthetic lol;; But I would suggest either an Intuos Pro or Intuos5 if you're planning to be a bit more serious about digital art.
If digital art is something you are just trying out for the first time, and unsure whether or not you'll still be interested within the next few years (or months), I would say an Intuos Manga/Draw, etc or even their older Bamboo brand would be a better option.
Quite a few of my friends bought tablets around the same time I bought one because they thought it was cool what you could do with it, but although they were mildly interested in drawing, they stopped using it after a few months. Keep in mind, a drawing tablet lasts a REALLY long time. I still have my Intuos3 and my Intuos4 and they are still working perfectly. With that being said, choosing a tablet is mainly about how much use you think you'll be getting out of it. I know many artists who are still using a Bamboo Fun that came out around 6 years ago.
I hope this helps a bit!
