The community has spoken and 8 collectibles have been added to the shop! Congratulations to Chere for designing the winning Ghostly Kitty Ice Cream Cone!
Tad was talking to Huck and then he made Huck put his shirt on. I'm so proud of him, I hope the whole town turns into a Tad cult. It's what he deserves
Have your villagers ever started a shirt cult? How many of them had the same shirt on?
Hahah they look cute.
Peanut and Papi were both wearing the jester shirt for the longest time and it was driving me INSANE, I hate that damn shirt!!
I finally got Papi to change, still trying to get Peanut to. Not sure what her deal is.
She even has an extra copy of the shirt, on display in her house!
And now Papi has like a billion shirts in his house, because I kept mailing him stuff to change into. But he used it as furniture instead. >_>
He ended up running into me and asking for the shirt I had just bought and was going to put into a letter for him (woohoo!)
I definitely had a duck shirt cult going on in my last town for a while. When I started Fujimori, the first thing I did was to replace all the ugly default shirts. Now they won't wear any of my designs, lol. FML. No one's wearing anything too terrible right now.
I also accidentally displayed a shirt that had visible cleavage and literally all my boy villagers were the only ones wearing it. It was terrible, lol.
Most of my villager's houses are right next to each other, so it doesn't take that much time for most of them to get the same shirt or catchphrase. There was one time in particular where I had about 4 villagers with Dizzy's default shirt, and it took me forever to give them new ones.
In Moriyo Village, Flurry was spreading a shirt, idek what shirt it was, all that she spread it, it was ugly, wasn't my design and made Whitney wear it, which was the last straw for me. I had sent Whitney a silk bloom tee the day before, and she looked really nice wearing it, it suited her so well.
Once Flurry made her change, I sent Flurry shirts to change into. It's like the hydra was burned, the shirts stopped spreading. I have yet to experience this in my other towns... yet.
In my town Taiga, Anabelle decided to start wearing a rainbow tee. She then began spreading this shirt around to half the town. Then one day Anabelle moved away, but villagers still wore her shirt. They seemed to enter a war where villagers would convert each other to the rainbow cult and others tried desperately to cull the spread. This went on for about a year after Anabelle moved out of my town. Interesting how a villager can influence your town that long after leaving.
The desert camo shirt took over my town for a while. It started with Hamphrey, who gave it to Hans, who passed it on to almost everybody else. I'm so glad that trend is over.
In my husband's town, he had two warring cults. Half of his villagers wore the leopard shirts and half wore the orange shirt from the Able Sisters. They were like gangs, constantly trying to gain new recruits to their side.
While I've definitely had shirt takeovers (at one point half the town was in the rainbow shirt, half in the BB shirt, and villagers would just switch to the other team's side every now and then huhu) I think my most memorable villager cult was the Cult of Muffy. She got at least 3-4 other villagers saying muffpower (the catchphrase I gave her) and this was around the time she was moving out, so I felt like she was trying to tell me how powerful she was and that my town Hapi would never forget her T w T
It's funny that you posted this, because a lot of my female villagers have started wearing the pink argyle tee recently. Whenever I see someone who isn't wearing it, I'll send them a letter telling them to "join the pink argyle tee cult" and attach it as a gift.
I'm hoping to start something similar for male villagers with the blue argyle tee.
Once there was a time when several of my villagers took a liking to the cat hoodie design I had on display at Able Sisters. It was a pleasant fad since I think the hoodie looked cute on the villagers. I was reminded of it when I saw Boots wearing that hoodie again today, so maybe the fad will start again too.
