Taking fruits from other peoples towns ?

Hi , so I went to one of my friends towns and took some fruit , but when I returned to my town it didn't show up in my inventory/bag?

(Sorry for the noob question) just didn't know if there is some sort of deposit box I should of used?

You don't have to use any sort of deposit box; if you have an item in your pockets when you leave a friend's town, it should still be there when you get back to your hometown.

Did you leave via the train station or did you leave by the host saving and quitting? If you left with either of those methods, the fruit should be in your possession since your game should have saved before you left. I think that either you didn't save before you returned to your town, or you've suffered from some sort of glitch.

Also, if you got an error message (Resetti comes up on your screen), whatever you did after your last save will have been lost.

It could have been that , because he did come up at some point and it was before I went to plant them in my town. Thank you
