tbhdoot's """art""" dump || please critique || freebies || finally got a style

recently I've been getting back into drawing.
welcome to my art dump.
my deviantart is here.

I'll draw your oc or any character if you want. feel free to tell me to draw them doing something, i need pose practice. no nsfw or animals though. humanoid animals are fine.

to those of you who got a drawing before the update, I'll redraw it in this better style if you want

I think it looks cute! The head and hands could use practice. Just remember the head should be more oval shaped. Proportions are important as well. The ears and eyes aren't equal so don't be afraid to use a ruler for reference. As for hands, look at your own for reference or google them with the action th character is doing (in this case eating a lollipop). That way, you kinda know what to expect with hand position. Hands are a huge pain to draw but just keep practicing. It'll eventually get easier the more you draw them. :)

What do you use to draw btw? Good luck! :)

Thanks a ton for the feedback! Hands are definitively something I need to work on ;-;

I draw it traditionally, scan it to my phone, and use ibisPaint x to color. It's hard with just 1 finger but it works.

Oh okay, that makes sense! Using a ruler will quickly become your bff. It's so handy (excuse the pun XD)

Definitely keep practicing. Google's useful for poses. I still have difficulty with hands so there's no shame in looking at references. :)

the forehead and hair are both quite squashed. because of this, it makes the eyes and eyebrows appear below on the face. in next works you should stretch both vertically out a bit, i made my own reference, you can use it or don't it's your choice

the shading is very good, but to make it even better you should smooth it out like how it is on both hands. speaking of the hands they're also good, the fingers on the left one, are great if they're supposed to be be tucked in. the lollipop should be tucked into the palm of the right hand instead of it sticking out too much
that's it for me, hope it helps

Your art is super cute! As for improvement, I recommend using stabilizer and practicing anatomy a bit more! ( ?∀`)

what art program do you use it seems like you use the fill tool on the same layer as the lineart layer

- - - Post Merge - - -

if not i just see some uncolored spots which you may want to watch out for

- - - Post Merge - - -

actually hold up after a closer look im guessing you take pics of or scan your traditional art and color right on the art without making it transparent or anything?

I draw traditionally and scan it to my phone to color it.
For the first one I didn't use any layers but for the other two I did a layer each for clothes, skin, and hair/accessories.

My lines aren't the straightest though, so I do have a lot of random lines everywhere :/ I'm working on it though.

ibisPaint extracts the drawing from the art for me so I usually go straight to coloring without re-doing the lineart digitally.

made a new oc :3
I think I'll do most future art in this style, frankly, looks a lot better and cleaner.
this took me two hours lol but it looks better except for the hands
