Today, July 17th 2021, marks the 8th year anniversary of myself joining TBT. I’ve made lots of good memories on the site and had a plethora of different usernames during that time too including AnimalCrossingExpert(ACE), Riley, Space Dandy, Ryu, DoubleR, Spike Spiegel, xRileyx, Shinichi, Izuku Midoriya, Midoriya, Zhongli, and back to Midoriya.
I’ve also gone through a lot of life changes during that time. When I joined here I was still in high school and only 16. Now I’ve graduated from university and am 24. I’ve also grown a lot as a person and changed in ways I never knew I would change. I still remember being in a small house that my mom and I were living in for just a bit around 2013/2014 and loading up Animal Crossing: New Leaf on my 3DS, working on my town Port to try and make it look better. Now I have Animal Crossing: New Horizons as well and an island that I really love.
For reference, I started playing Animal Crossing in the early 2000’s. My first game was the one for the GameCube and my sister and I played it together until I helped her finish her house upgrades. From there I played Wild World with a friend, then City Folk with my sister, and then New Leaf on my own and with others online, and now New Horizons with others here on TBT even more than I did in New Leaf.
I’ll never be able to put into words the appreciation I have for the community here, both the members and the staff team. Seriously, you are all awesome and are what has kept me coming back to this site even when others have let me down.
TL;DR I appreciate you all so, so much, and here’s to another eight fantastic years!
