TBT bells on birthdays?

I don't mean to be like 'Where are my bells?!' but I thought I read that you could get TBT on your birthday in the beginner's guide and somewhere else I read you could get 100 TBT on your B-Day, mine was last Friday but I didn't get anything ._.
In the end, I don't really care so much, but I'm just curious. Did I do something wrong?

Did you update your birthday before the day? You should have received a PM saying that you've gotten your 100 bells, so did you check your inbox too?

I'm sure you probably would have, but some people don't always check.

I didn't update anything, and didn't get any notification - I checked my private messages the next day and there was nothing.
So it's weird ._.

I have no idea then, sorry! You could contact a mod about it to see if they could look into it for you. If not, then it's only 100 bells.

Did you make your bithday public? I think if you keep it hidden, you dont get the bells. If you did make it public, then i am all out of ideas as to what went wrong. Happy belated birthday!

If you mean on my profile, then yes, it is public, but I didn't put it in any kind of 'official' thread (like 'When's your birthday?' or something like that). Maybe I should have done that? I don't know.
