Does anyone else feel like TBT prices are going up? A month ago I saw Tier 1 villagers go for 75 TBT, now I regularly see people asking 100 TBT for low Tier 3 villagers, and 250+ for Tier 1 villagers. Has anyone else noticed this? Idk, I guess I'm making this thread because I'm worried about this trend.

The harsh reality is that nobody cares. If people can make a profit out of it, they will.

The problem is that ACNL has a problem with money piling up. With a higher money supply, items will be much more expensive, as if we're converting to TBT, the value drops.

In addition, ACNL is already an old game. It's almost two years old. In the beginning, the exchange rate was very low (like less than 1 million per 100 TBT). One year later, it multiplied by 10. Another year, it inflated 10 times more. As the TBT prices of items have deflated.

There's not even a system to this. People are just setting the prices they want. Blame them.

There's nothing we can do

It sounds like we need to pin TBT bells to the price of gold so that we can avoid all these price fluctuations.

We can stop paying ridiculous prices.

One trend is people taking advantage of newbies, since they have 700TBT of "welcome" gifts, I have seen people overcharging them by a lot!

That sounds pretty bad.

Yeah, I want a lot of TBT, but I only want to obtain TBT fairly.

I don't think anyone is taking my idea of pinning TBT bells to the price of gold seriously. Honestly if you've got a price fluctuation problem this is the best way to go. There's almost no way hyperinflation can become a problem unless there's a serious influx of gold flooding the market. If you don't believe me you can just check out what wikipedia has to say. It's right there under the advantages subheading.

No one will consider it because it's a digital currency and it really doesn't matter.

But I'm surprised they disabled the interest system when some users found a way to cheat it.

But they only did it so that they wouldn't have to restock the shop constantly because everyone would buy everything.

Bitcoin is a digital currency, just saying. Today TBT, tomorrow the moon!

Well, if it's any consolation, way back when I joined, people paid 1000 - 2000 TBT for a tier 1 villager. People would tip like 100 TBT if you got one for free, just to say thanks. So, I think those are cheap actually.

The strange thing is that as the supply of TBT has increased, so has the IGB value of it increased which doesn't make much sense because there is so much of it now. Really the best way to get around TBT inflation is just to shop around and look for the lowest price. There are people who set their prices really high to take advantage of newer users, but there is not much you can do about it except not buy from them. I was smart enough to lurk around on the forums long enough before buying anything so that I could get a grasp on what stuff is really worth so I don't overpay.

its about $20 - 4000 tbt bells

Except that we shouldn't trade real world currency for TBT and vice versa. You're probably thinking that because of video game prices in both USD and TBT.

People tend to copy off others. If they see someone selling something for an insane amount, they'll try to sell the same thing for that amount as well. I mean, why wouldn't you?
