This is an item based Mafia. Most 'powers' will come from the items that each person is holding.Unfamiliar with the theme? Watch this introduction video from the game:
Special rules for this Mafia - Please read carefully:
At the start of each day and night phase, a new item is added to the game - Publicly revealed - And is then randomly assigned to a player within the game. This means that even if you start out as a Townie, you may earn a power to use later on.
Each day phase, players will be allowed to give away one of their items to another player of their choosing. Each night phase, they may then use ONE item or power - Not multiple.
Please note that scum using KP counts as an action in this game and can thus not be combined with any additional powers they may possess - You select which person will perform each kill, and they are thus unable to use any other powers or items they may own that same night. You also cannot send the same scum member to carry out multiple of your KP kills. Choose carefully.
Furthermore, there is two different scum teams. They have to eliminate each other in order to win the game.
Additional information:
Set-Up will feature approximately 48 hour long days and 24 hour long nights. They may occasionally last longer than this since I might be a little busy, but will not be ended abruptly or unexpectedly. You are NOT allowed to communicate outside of the thread unless it is through a specific QuickTopic related to your role.
This is a semi-open set-up. All possible roles are listed. However, far from all of them will be included in the game. There's many extra roles added to the mixture in order to keep people guessing.
Voting will be done in a separate thread (Linked here: CLICK ME!]) and the game uses a Plurality Lynch set-up. Whomever has the most votes cast onto them by the end of the day phase will be lynched. In case of a tie, whomever got the vote cast onto them first will be the one lynched.
General Mafia rules:
You probably know them by now - If not, please do go ahead and read the ones listed under the official TBT Mafia thread. Furthermore, I stole Dolby's rules to include them here. All credits goes to him and whomever else may have initially put them together, of course!Cheating includes (but is not limited to):
1. Posting after death. You may have one polite goodbye post, but it may not contain any potentially game-changing information.
2. Ruining the game by doing something like handing out your mafia's member list to the town.
3. Logging on to someone else's account to get their role or looking over someone's shoulder to get their role.
4. Comparing role PM timings to try and work out roles.
5. Posting or sharing any PM you receive from a host without permission.
6. Getting yourself modkilled to help your team. Your non-majority-decided death may not be used as a bargaining chip.
7. Signing up more than once using smurf accounts.
8. Offering favours/items/bells outside of the game for a ingame information.
9. Sharing accounts with other players.
10. Breadcrumbing the specific phrasing of your role PM. Do not compare the phrasing in your role PM to prove your alignment. You can claim the abilities you have, but you can't use the specific phrasing of your role PM.
11. Posting a false PM phrased as if you received it from the host. You can still fake roleclaim, but you cannot make it look like you are posting a PM you received from the host.
YOU MAY ONLY COPY AND PASTE TEXT FOR USE AS EVIDENCE. POSTING SCREENSHOTS OR ANY OTHER NON-TEXT EVIDENCE IS CONSIDERED CHEATING. THE ONLY EXCEPTION IS EVIDENCE THAT IS PUBLICLY AVAILABLE FOR ALL PLAYERS TO CHECK (eg. post counts in a thread). IT IS BEST IF YOU CHECK WITH ME FIRST.

This is the question color. Use it to ask the host questions about the rules in public. You can also PM me.
Spam:
Strategic spam is acceptable, within reason.
Activity: You must contribute one substantial post at least once every full day/night cycle. This means that if you only make one post, it needs to be more substantial than simply saying "I agree" or "RIP". If you post multiple times, this rule may may be less strict. There may be exceptions to this if day/night phases progress rapidly at any stage in the game. You also must vote once every two days
Editing:
Editing is not allowed for any reason. Editing will result in a warning. After that, you will be modkilled.
Inappropriate posts:
Mafia games can get heated and emotional. Please keep it civil and remember that what happens in Mafia stays in Mafia.
Observers' Chat:
While dead players will be keen to give valuable "insight" into the game, please refrain from revealing game-changing information (eg. the identities of your fellow Mafia).

Replacements List:
1. 2.
The possible Town roles, known as 'The Victims':
1. Victim
Starting Item: None.
2. Isaac
Starting Item: The D6.
The D6 can be used to perform three different actions, two times each. During the Night phase you have 2x Roleblocks, 2x Doctor protections, and 2x Sheriff investigations.
3. Magdalene AKA Maggy
Starting Item: The Yum Heart.
Once per night phase, you can use the Yum Heart to protect yourself or another player from dying. You cannot target the same player two nights in a row. This item has unlimited uses.
4. Cain
Starting Item: The Lucky Foot.
The Lucky Foot can be used once per game during either a day or a night phase to turn fortune in your favour and create a copy of the previous item found in the thread. Disappears upon use. (Exchanged for the new item)
5. Judas
Passive Ability: Will return as EVIL to any inspections made against him.
Starting Item: The Book of Belial.
When this item is used, anyone who visits you that same night ends up dead. Disappears after one use.
6. Eve
Passive Ability: Whenever Eve is visited by an evil player using a non-killing action at night, her curse activates, and she is given another Dead Bird.
Starting Item: The Dead Bird.
The Dead Bird can be used to avenge those who have wronged Eve during the day phase. She can kill a player during day time. Only Eve can use this item, and when it is used, Eve is revealed and confirmed within the thread. Disappears after one use.
7. Samson
Starting Item: Samson's Lock.
Each time scum is killed through a lynch vote, you are given a vigilante shot. You start the game with zero bullets.
8. The Blue Baby
Passive Ability: You cannot be protected at night.
Starting Item: The Book of Revelations.
Once per night phase, the foresight of the book can be used to protect another player from dying. You will sacrifice your own life, but you will also take the killer down with you. You cannot target the same player two nights in a row, and you cannot target yourself. This item has unlimited uses.
9. The Generous Beggar
Passive/Active Ability: Once per night phase, you can investigate another player, revealing their alignment [Town/Mafia/Third-Party] but not their exact role. Note that some roles may give false reads. (Such as Judas showing as Mafia and Mom showing as Town.) As soon as you own an item, you cannot use this ability any longer, unless you give your item away.
10. Guppy The Cat
Passive Ability: They say that cats have nine lives. Unfortunately, you have already been in plenty of terrible accidents. You still got one extra night-life remaining, at least.
The possible Mafia roles, known as 'The Horrors':
1. Mom
Passive Ability: You return as Town (Victim) to any inspections.
Secondary Passive Ability: You cannot be killed at night, except by very rare actions that bypass immunity.
2. The Duke of Flies
Active Ability: You can send your flies to spy for you at night, giving you information about whom your target visited at night, as well as who might've visited them.
3. Gemini
Passive Ability: At the start of the game, Gemini can select another player to be their "twin". Any night actions taken against Gemini will then be used upon the "twin" instead, but NOT vice versa. Lynching Gemini does not affect the "twin".
4. Monstro
Active Ability: Twice per game, you can vomit on a target player at night, making nobody want to go near them, which also roleblocks them. This protects them from both death and inspections of any kind at the same time as it makes them completely passive.
5. Larry Junior
Active Ability: Once per game during a night phase, you can select a target player ? The following morning, all of their items are destroyed and removed from the game.
6. Pin
Active Ability: You can hide underground at night, protecting yourself from death, but it does not prevent inspections or any other action from being used against you. When you choose to hide, you do not contribute to your teams KP. Can be used indefinitely.
7. Peep
Passive Ability: If you are killed during a night phase, you will take your attacker down with you, so that both end up dead.
8. Chub
Active Ability: Twice per game, you can chase a player target at night, trying to eat them. If they have selected to use an action, they will instead be forced to run, resulting in a roleblock. If they did not use any action that night, they will be devoured and killed. (If they have chosen to use an action on YOU, they will still die rather than be roleblocked.)
9. Loki
Active Ability: Once per game, you can steal an item from a targeted player and take it for yourself. If they have no items, your power is refunded. If they have more than one item, only the item they aquired most recently is stolen.
10. The Bloat
Passive Ability: You have two night lives.
Active Ability: Twice per game, you can set up an ambush near a targeted player. Everyone who visits that player will be killed BEFORE they can use their own actions.
The possible Third-Party roles, known as 'The Seven Sins':
1. Envy
Active Ability: Once per night, you can investigate a player to see which item they are holding. If the target has more than one item, only the one most recently obtained is shown.
2. Gluttony
Passive Ability: You have three night lives, but you will not be informed if you were targeted by an attack at night.
3. Greed
Active Ability: Once per game, you can PM the host during the day phase to cast additional anonymous votes in the daily lynch. For each day that passes, you are given an extra vote - The longer you save this power, the strong it becomes. Example: On Day 5, you would have 5 anonymous votes to cast. These votes cannot be changed or taken back once cast.
4. Lust
Active Ability: Each night, you can visit someone, roleblocking them and spreading your infection. Once per game during a night phase, you can unleash your viruses full potential, causing everyone infected to become deathly ill. Once this happens, an announcement is made once the day begins. If Lust is still alive and not lynched during that day phase, everyone who carried the infection dies.
5. Pride
Active Ability: Once per game, you can commit the perfect murder. Nobody will even know you were there. You bypass healing. You bypass reviving effects. You remove all of their night-lives at once. You leave no traces of evidence. The role of your victim is never revealed.
6. Sloth
Passive Ability: You are too lazy to perform your own actions, and can never use items. You can still give them to other players, but this is more effort than you prefer to put down, and so your trades take place during the night instead of using your other ability.
Active Ability: During the night phase, you mind control a targeted player, causing them to use their action (if any) on a secondary target that you also select. If your target used no action that night, even if they COULD, nothing happens.
Example: Player A is a vigilante. Player A wants to kill Player B.
However, Sloth controls Player A, forcing him to target Player C instead.
7. Wrath
Active Ability: Twice per game, you can infuse your anger into a targeted player during the night phase, causing whatever action they had selected to be replace by murder instead.
Example: Player A is a doctor. Player A wants to protect Player B.
However, Wrath makes Player A angry, causing Player A to kill Player B instead.
Item Archives:
Starting items shown above - See individual character roles for more information.
Chocolate Milk: Leaving the Chocolate Milk out at night causes any person who visits you to stumble into it and spill it. Seeing spilled Chocolate Milk causes your visitors great distress and they will be prevented from completing their intended action on you. Can only be used once. (As the milk will end up spoiling if nobody visits.)
Mister Boom: Mister Boom will explode. The only question is when! It will explode in 1 to 6 phases - Whomever holds it at that time dies. (or loses a night-life) The thread will be informed when the bomb has gone off. The bomb can be given away, stolen, or copied just like any other item. If a copy of this item is made, the fuse timer of the cloned bomb may be different than the original.
This item is known to have been used already.
Sacrifical Dagger: It is time for vengance. The Sacrifical Dagger can be used to kill a player during the day phase, before the lynch. However, when a kill is attempted to be made with this item, due to it's short range, everyone in the thread will know who made the attack. The attack made by this item cannot be resisted, regardless of any immunity, and it removes all extra lives at once. If the winner of this item choose not to sacrifice anyone before the end of Day 2, this item will expire once night comes. It cannot be traded away.
This item is known to have been used already.
The Monster Manual: This book can be used to learn more about the horrors and sins left within the game. It has two separate usages, though only one of them can be selected and the book can only be used once.
Primary Action - Only usable by Town: Intense study of the book can reveal openly in the thread which scum roles still remain in the game (but not which players that are evil, obviously). However, you will also die from boredom due to studying too hard. Is your life worth the information?
Secondary Action - Usable by any alignment: You have chosen to study one evil creature very carefully. So carefully, in fact, that you become just like them. Can be used by Town players to join one of the scum teams, or by a scum player to switch to the other scum team. Can not be used to convert from scum into town. You get to pick your own monster (and team) selecting only from the ones not included in the game thus far.
This item is known to have been used already.
The Teleporter: The Teleporter can be used during either a day or a night phase to switch places between the device itself and someone's item. What this means is that you take whatever item they are holding, and in return they get the Teleporter. If they do not own any items, you still give them the Teleporter. If they own multiple items, you only take the latest one they earned. This item never expires, and the new owner of the item can use it again the next phase. Time to shuffle!
The Ouija Board: You can use this item to attempt to contact the ghosts of the dead Observers. But be careful when you summon spirits, as you never know who might be answering your questions.. (This item description is intentionally vague. Use at your own risk! Can only be used at night.)
The Box: What's in the box!? Curiosity killed the cat. The nametag on the side just says "Mom's stuff". Will you open it, or is it best not to know what's inside? Can be opened during either a day or a night phase, and is only usable once.
This item is known to have been used already.
The Hourglass: We shall turn back time. This item is used automatically, and will be active for exactly one phase. (This night) Tonight, you can send in multiple actions - Item gifting, item usage, active powers, KP, etc - With no limits except 1 usage per item/power. Furthermore, items with a limited number of charges or uses will NOT be consumed if used tonight. This item's power is in effect for everyone only on night 4 - It has now expired.
Guppy's head, paw, tail, and hairball: You wonder what will happen if you put the pieces back together with the rest of Guppy's body? "We can rebuild him. We have the Technology!" Each of you have been given a part to contribute with, and you individually decide if you want to add it back onto Guppy's corpse. The LAST AND FINAL person who adds a piece to Guppy's remains, provided that it becomes complete, will earn a.. Err.. 'Reward'.
Panda1376 has the Head.
Alexi has the Paw.
Oath2Order has the Tail.
M3ow_ has the Hairball.
In order to add your bodypart back onto Guppy's rotten remains, simply type the command ##GUPPY here in the thread. But remember that nothing will happen unless all four of you do it, and that only the last person who adds their piece will have something happen to them. Note that you cannot change your mind or "unguppy" in any way - Once you have returned your piece, that choice is final.
As additional items are 'found' they will be added here.
Win Conditions:
The Town (Victims) wins when all of the Horrors (Mafia) and all of the Sins (Third-Party Team) have been eliminated from the game. The Horrors win when all of the Sins have been defeated and they also equal or outnumber the Town. The Sins win when all of the Horrors have been defeated and they also equal or outnumber the Town. There can be no draws, and if you find a loop-hole to make this possible, everybody loses! RAWR!Starting items shown above - See individual character roles for more information.
