This is just a suggestion, but I was thinking we could do something to spice up activity around here. Maybe get the two separate "towns", so to speak, of the Animal Crossing boards and the Off-Topic boards to come together for a bit. Now, I know what you're thinking...

Don't cross the streams!

Hear me out. We need some activity here. We can't just sit around, idly, hoping and waiting that the forum activity picks up around the release of New Leaf.

So, I propose a few tourneys and contests. I know in years past, we've had winter graphic contests. Maybe we could get the Writers' Guild to hold a writing/fiction contest. ZR or Jas0n (or someone) could host another signature contest.
As for Tournaments, maybe we could throw in a bunch of games.

  1. Team Fortress 2 - CP or CTF against the staff or against other teams.
  2. Kid Icarus - Light v. Dark or Free-For-All
  3. Pok?mon Tournament
  4. Animal Crossing City Folk Contests - Find the Buried Items, Bug Catching Contest, Fishing Contest, etc.
  5. Brawl/PSASBR Tourney
  6. COD Tourney
  7. MKWII Tourney
  8. MK7 Tourney
Suggestions are open. I know this may seem like a lot of work, but I know that if we can get a stable "committee" together, we can make this thing work. My thought was that, for those not going out of town, or not doing anything that day, to have an "End of the World" party on December 21. (No, I don't believe the world is going to end, but for the halibut...) I'm open for suggestions, but I think this could be pretty awesome. Come on, TBT!

great idea! we'll have an "hour of silence" on december 21st at 7PM to 8PM at my town.

Alright, I'll get on board the Winter Game Train and host another Writers' Guild Contest. I'm thinking an Animal Crossing Christmas story contest? Sound good?

I like the idea of an activity committee. Maybe we can throw one together and each of us should host some sort of activity every month to two months. I'd like that to be a real committee with colored usernames....*hinthint*....but yeah I'm dreaming =p

You said it! Not me. But yea! That works! I'd just like to see what a staff member has to say, too.

Oh and by Christmas story contest, I mean winter holiday contest. I don't mean to offend, its just what I'm used to =p

Actually that'd be pretty awesome, I know I don't post a lot anymore, but I'm always up for contests. Maybe a MKWII and 7 tourney? Huh? Huh? Yes, no, maybe, nudge nudge, wink wink, slap slap, stab stab I killed a man?

Woo signature contests! I'm unsure how many graphic artists we have left on TBT though.

Halo 4 would be fun
I second this. I got 3 months on a card that I never used =/

BAM look at this holiday bacon sizzle! Well....its not really bacon or sizzling but the Writers' Guild Winter Holiday Story Contest is up and ready for you all to participate!

i'll prob only do MK7 and pokemon tournament, cbf doing anything else

v nice idea though

I've been thinking about something like this for a while now. Let's make it happen.

If your legit I'm definitely on board. I thought Jer was thinking about making committee's of some sort but I never saw that happen.

I like the idea of doing the writing/fiction contest. That would be awesome, maybe add Happy Wars to the list because I think that might add a bit more activity on these forums. (And possibly, more members!)

This is a brilliant idea and I'm possibly joining the "End of the World" party. :D

For the end of the world party, I was thinking we could hold games in the sponsors' towns. We'd need to have a list of sponsors as well as back up sponsors should plans suddenly change for someone... It is four days before Christmas after all.
