You could scan special amiibo cards to get special Sanrio-themed villagers to camp at your campsite. These villagers were based on and had furniture sets modeled after beloved Sanrio characters such as Hello Kitty and Kerokerokeroppi. Unfortunately, the special amiibo cards were only released in Japan and Europe, and became difficult and expensive to find quickly. In addition, these villagers did not return in New Horizons.

The Sanrio babies also came to pocket camp!! It was a pleasant surprise to have Étoile in my campsite, and I have high hopes they’ll include them in the future (since they did it for ACPC)
