So I love terraforming in every game I possibly can, and typically what I do is strip the entire area I'm working on to one flat and empty space.

Does anyone else plan on doing this? Or do you plan on building around what is already there?

I was planning on stripping everything out, but then I kind of fell in love with the upper area and how it was designed. I've only really tweaked cliffsides and rivers now to make room for bridges and inclines. I feel like I'd get overwhelmed real quick terraforming too much.

Yeah I've definitley decided to do my island in parts lol. Yesterday I only focused on clearing some trees/flowers, going to finish that today and then move on to clearing out the water
It's a lot!!!

I don’t even know what I’m going to do ultimately.

I know for sure that I’m expanding my second and third tier cliffs further out and getting rid of one of my ponds.

The rest will come later.

I wanted a flat Wild World like town, but since Nintendo thought it was a good idea to have special fish and bugs spawn in the clifftops, I am forced to have cliffs until I complete the Museum.

So my plan may be to have as much flat land as possible, and then shove a single layer cliff all the way back with one connecting horizontal river, and a waterfall on each end.

Yeah, it kind of sucks they did that :c and I swear spawn rates drop when you use online play so going to another town to get the fish might take a while.

I just got my ladder last night, so I'm not there yet. But I finally got to look at the spot I picked on the map for my house.

I'll probably need to do a bit of tweaking on the pool, so I can fit my house, and I'll put in some stairs/ramps and give access to the private beach in back, but I don't plan to do a lot. I'm actually happy with the island, as it is, so any terraforming will simply be to make access a bit easier.

The cliff right next to the pier has got to go. That's where my villagers will live eventually. That's my first terraforming project. I have to also making some parts of the river thinner for bridges. Other then that I'm pretty happy with the layout.

There are certain kind of creatures, like the Stringfish and the Golden Trout that can only be found on clifftops, so if you've flattened your whole island you won't ever be able to catch them.
