not even two weeks since the last terror attack in london, and some lunatic runs a van over london bridge hitting about 20 people, with one confirmed fatality. i fully blame Mayor Khan who has instructed london citizens to 'get used to terrorism' (he might as well be in support of it). these attacks will continue until the collective mindset of drawing attention away from the real problem stops. i am sick.

any london tbt'ers willing to offer insight?

I don't live in London but I took what the mayor said as this - in the city with so many people crowded together... **** happens. Similar to Chicago, which I did live in. When you have so many people packed together something bad is bound to happen.

That said, it's still awful to hear about. And it would be nice if all people were good and didn't want to hurt anyone, but unfortunately each one of us has at least a sliver of ill intent in us. I think it's the nature of all living things to have that sliver of cruelty in it - plants too, since every living thing needs to consume something else in order to survive. While we might not consider a plant consuming CO2 as evil, whatever plane those molecules are on would consider plants genocidal gods.

how could you say, "expect terrorist attacks" to your own citizens?

anyways, my thoughts and prayers go out to the victims :(

This is an attack on a place close to my heart. A place I live a mere few hours away.

Disgusting. Makes me feel sick. I can't think about it too much or I'm gonna seriously go into some kind of panic attack.

This is honestly a real tragedy. I can't help but foresee the threat level being raised to critical again.

England itself is getting hit hard by these terrorist attacks, it's so sad

get used to terrorism??? what the hell kind of mayor says that to his citizens?
that's like saying "just accept it. get over it. yeah people are gonna die, but hey people always die everywhere."

Rip. I hope these mass murderers get eradicated soon. But what happened isn't the mayor's fault, it's Blair's fault for what he did with Irak.

This world is really messed up right now. It's always been this way but only recently has it become more common. It really makes you scared to leave home, huh?
Rest in peace to all of the victims.

i go to college in central london and you can't have a huge outcry of sorrow every time this happens, imo.

it's going to happen as long as there is a reaction; feeding terrorism with terror is not the way to go.

It was taken out of context.

Repost your original post but in more non-aggressive way maybe? I didn't think your post was aggressive, I though it was necessary.

He said it in 2015, to be exact.

I though it was 2016?

I'm really looking forward to the One Love Manchester event tonight, which I feel is relevant given this attack. I hope they know that we won't be swayed by terrorism and acts of hatred.

I thought he said it after the Boston bombing. Either way, the circulation of the fake news that he supported terrorism was caused by Trump Dump Jr.

I had just heard the news, came on here to vent, saw that and.... yeah, I could've been less aggressive.

It's impractical to do it everytime, but I think terrorists need to know that they won't defeat us and events like One Love Manchester is a good way of doing that, plus getting everybody together in their time of need.

donald trump said, while using our terrorist attacks to promote his travel ban, "Do you notice we are not having a gun debate right now? That's because they used knives and a truck" and i don't even know what that means. if someone could, like, translate pls

"guns arent the only weapons you can use to kill people (so banning them is useless) and thats why we want to ban people from several countries from entering usa because we all know the gun doesnt kill, it's the person holding it and all terrorists are from the middle east so if we dont let those evil people in we wont have any terrorism wow i am a genius"

so very smart

except he doesn't realise that these attackers (at least in the manchester bombing) were born and raised in the UK. so using a tragedy caused by radicalisation to promote his travel ban is counterproductive. it shows that we should be doing something about radicalisation while also fighting islamic state from the outside.
