when did you start "seriously" drawing?
I can't really remember in all honesty. What would you even call serious drawing? Like, drawing every day or drawing with the idea of improvement in mind?
I've honestly been drawing almost everyday since about like, kindergarten now, so that'd be 16 years at least. Most of that was just drawing for fun though or to waste time in class. I never really cared to improve and so I didn't for the most part until relatively later.
I can't really remember when something 'clicked' and I started to take drawing a little more serious. I think I did when I realized I wasn't really awful at it and with some work I could be really good. I know in 7th grade (around 9-10 years ago) I began to draw a
lot more than usual. I started spamming the **** out of full bodies, friends OCs, fanart, everything. Eight grade wasn't really a healthy time for me so I stopped entirely, and honestly for the next few years after that I don't remember drawing anything else for a while. Any time something artistic would come up for a project in class I'd usually surprise people with how well I could draw for someone who never drew.
I think I picked drawing back up in 11th grade because I joined the MLP fanbase (so like... 4-5 years ago?) and I had a lot more things to draw, and I was relatively happier at the time, so I found a lot of motivation. If there's one positive thing I can take away from my time in the MLP fanbase, it's that it gave me the motivation to draw again after a very long time, and I've had it more or less ever since, except for last year where I just dropped drawing altogether for a bit.
So.. a sum total of 4-5 years? That's a lot less than it feels now that I look back on it.
Wow I rambled
