That Villager you used to hate but now you like.

Clay... he looks like a Mexican Wrestling Hamster.

I really couldn't stand him at first, but my mom and I play together, and she loved him instantly. So we kept him.

I do like him quite a bit mkre then I used to, but definitely not my favorite.

Sheep in general. For some reason I really didn't like their designs. Probably because they are just a huge ball of fluff with a scarf.

In this game, I finally saw them in a new light because they are actually wearing clothes.

Just FYI, though (basically, a fun fact) he's specifically based on a type of Japanese statue. The same one one of Redd's statue is based on (too tired to look up his name for it). IDK if that affects your opinion of him at all, but I just know it made his design make way more sense when I found out Still don't get why he's naked in his poster and photo, though:

I actually don’t like how in NH it makes them look like they’ve tried to squeeze into a shirt 6 sizes too small!

Hate is a strong word, but I was definitely not impressed with Beardo as my first camper. As I spent more time with him, I guess I softened towards him. I ended up with his Amiibo card by chance, and I'm gonna keep it.

I never hated Pietro but I had never had him in a game of mine before I just used to see a lot of hate towards him cause he is a clown. But I managed to get him for my new horizons island and he is always so cute and sweet. He is one of the most happy and caring islanders I have on my island at the moment and he deserves a lot more love.

I've not had her in NH, but definitely Katt, who I did have in NL. I didn't like her sneaky looking face at all, but in the end her style, interior and charisma won me over and I was sorry to see her go.

Beardo, he was in my new leaf town. I thought he was very strange and was a little irritated that he moved in but he became one of my favorites.
In ACNH Octavian (the octopus) I really wasn’t sure what to think of him but he became one of my favorites too, I love the cranky villagers. Plus I watched this movie/documentary called My Octopus Teacher on Netflix and it gave me a new appreciation of the species. They’re very intelligent and interesting creatures, I like them a lot now.

Hate is definitely a strong word lol but I've always never really liked Marshal, he was 'ight to me but overrated.. and there's no other smug squirrel so... kinda had to get him. I've warmed up to him now and honestly I feel like 60% of the reason is because he fits the smug personality sooo well lol. I was never big on smugs either mostly because the ones I got never really felt like they belonged in the smug personality type (Pietro, Ken, Graham, etc. ) imo? idk. But with Marshal, yeah, he just gives off smug vibes. Also having a villager in-game is way different than just looking at a picture of them. Marshal's fur ended up being way whiter than I thought it would be. Dude's a complete marshmallow and I love it.

Another is Sheldon. Again; hate is a strong word so I wouldn't say I hated him, more dislike, but just from pictures it looked like he had some type of 5 o'clock shadow from my point of view lol plus he's the only jock squirrel (i love him now but can we still get more jock squirrels i would loooove that). So when I actually got him in-game I'm glad my mind stopped being dumb and started to think they looked more like freckles because they're actually super cute? I was surprised how cute his voice ended up sounding and I think it's actually the reason I like his catchphrase (cardio) so much. Oh and just saying he has one of the best house interiors in the game factually. It's like a male version of Poppy's so I dig it.

Dobie. He used to creep me out and I wasn't fond of him, but my partner got him for his island and I got really attached to the sweet old wolf.

He was my first campsite villager on my new island, so I had to move him in. At first I was really unhappy about it, because I don't like the anteaters all the much, and he was one of my least favourites.

But after having him for a bit, he kinda grew on me and now I don't mind him at all. He has moved out now though. Would I ever take him back? Hm, probably not. But at least now, I'm not totally offended by his appearance.

When I first met Raddle, I couldn't stand him. He didn't match my island's theme. He got in the way when I was terraforming. But later on, I had a goth island and added him and his dark house and I ended up really liking him. I even earned his photo.

I have mixed feelings about Olaf too. I like so many smug villagers more than him. Also, I gave him a noble coat and he wouldn't wear it, which annoyed me. (I forgot to check online before gifting to see what styles he would wear, my bad.) But I really love his house so I tolerated him long enough to get his photo. His orange and black house is great for a gothic or Halloween theme island.

Here's another one. Pig villagers, but then i remember how much i enjoy to have Spork in my City Folk Town.

Back in the day, CF make me enjoy many “unpopular” Villagers. Anyway, i just can remember some: Elvis, Antonio, Spork and Puck (i think that's his name). I think they're cool!

back in new leaf, i absolutely hated pietro, to the point that i swore to reset my town if he were to ever move in. i’m not really sure what my problem was, all i knew was that i didn’t like him at all.

i carried that hatred over to new horizons briefly, but as time went on, my hatred shifted to casual dislike and i eventually found myself wanting him on my island!

i ran into him while island hopping earlier this year and he’s now one of my favourite smug villagers! he also taught me the last reaction that i needed, so he’ll always be special to me because of that as well.
