Apple Imperialist
It's time to wrap-up my review of my experience in ACNL. I'll talk about the parts of the game I reviewed in the last five entries, and I'll also rate the game by parts.
Basics of Data:
BEST - Choosing where you live. For the past three games, there are houses already set up for you. Having freedom on where you live is what we need. In my town, I put all three girls on the south side of the river.
WORST - data corruption. Although most of us are careful with what we do, we put a lot of work on our towns. The reason why this is a big deal for me to lose my town is not only I put a lot of work on it, but I have a lot of unorderable items in all three of the houses, along with the many Bells I own. PWP hunting was very frustrating, I don't want to try again to get the museum donations, and item gathering was very time consuming. It's a good thing that I didn't delete my town or face data corruption, but I sympathize for everyone who do.
Character, House, and Items:
BEST - Interior design. It's my second favorite on New Leaf, and my favorite feature in Animal Crossing in general.
WORST - Lovely Series and Nursery Theme. There's no frustration at all, so I'm picking least favorite items for this.
The Town Community:
BEST - you are the mayor in this game, so you can design your town the way you want to. This is New Leaf's unique feature I haven't seen in previous games.
WORST - the group mechanic. It's only good when there aren't many furniture to collect, but not good now.
Activities and Events:
BEST - money making is a lot easier in ACNL than previous games. Even if getting 100 million Bells alone is a chore, it's not as bad as 1 million in the Gamecube version.
WORST - animals have more freedom when moving. Since the sign posts have been removed, animals are free to move wherever they want. This is a problem because we work hard on our towns or plan on our towns, and animals can undo your work by moving in the wrong spots.
Traveling and Wi-fi:
BEST - hosting visitors and traveling. Not only I need help from the community and vice versa, but I like to show my town to the people online.
WORST - Club Tortimer. What's worse than data corruption and frustrating mechanics are cyberbullies like scammers that play the game too. And Club Tortimer is poorly moderated.
Overall:
I already went over these several times, so I'm just going to name them and that's it.
BEST - Mayoral duties.
WORST - Club Tortimer.
My rating for this game is 9/10.
And that's the end of the ACNL related entries on the StarFall Press. Although I am going to write fanfics based on my town and participate in the AC forums, there will be no more New Leaf entries. I hope you enjoyed them.
