During today's E3 showing, we came across a bit of info that's sure to get Wii owners excited.

High Voltage, developer behind The Conduit for the Wii, has revealed that the game will include an online multiplayer mode.

Even more, the team currently has a build that supports up to 16 players at once. They also revealed functionality with WiiSpeak, Nintendo's new communication peripheral unveiled at yesterday's press conference. Keep it here for more!

Sweet, hype +1. How they are managing 16 players at once online on the Wii, I don't know.

That with wiispeak sounds like it'll be sixty times worse than halo... not only do you have the fat kid sniping swearing at you nonstop, you have all ten of his friends in the same room.

I can already see it, the kid kills you and suddenly eleven people are like "OOHHHH YOU GOT OWNED MAN!!!"

I'm hyping the mute function.

Aw hell naw. I'm sure the game's gonna be great, but Wiispeak just might ruin the online. Agh...it could become like Halo 3. 7 year old kids shouting at you calling you a hacker ALL THE TIME.

Time to get my math on.

16 players x 4 people a room = 64 voices at once = Bad.

Third party headset + mute function - friend codes = Good.

There's probably more kids playing Halo than there will be with this game.

By the way, Medal of Honor has 32 players online, no FCs... I don't know why no one talks about this game. I play it all the time.

in the last 24 hours for Halo 3, there have been 814,682 people online. <3

but this is the big game for Nintendo, so it may get around there.

Wow.

It used to be "OMG, when's Wii gonna' get a microphone feature?!?!"

Now it's "I sure hope there's a mute button."

xD

I mean when you just play any game. There's probably a higher % of kids playing Halo.

Well, Nintendo should be up to par with everyone else. If there's a mic, of course there should be a mute function. It's the most logical thing to have and blah blah blah... *rants*

|sf>Honestly, I doubt that Nintendo will allow WiiSpeak to connect with random people that you don't know. There might be the MK Wii "code swapping" "Wii mail" function though. The lesson behind that is: don't swap your code with 7 year old kids.

Regardless, I'm not into that type of game, so I don't have to worry about it.

I believe it would be the people making The Conduit who would decide that, not Nintendo. And I can't see how it would ruin the online either, I mean, just don't use it if you don't want to xD And I wouldn't be surprised if you could mute other people within the game :p

|sf>Well, Nintendo told that one WiiWare company that they couldn't use the Gamecube Bongos as an optional controller choice within the game. Why wouldn't Nintendo have rules regarding WiiSpeak?

Well, I'm just assuming there, but I can't see Nintendo telling every company they have to run by all their online features regarding wii speak with them for every game to see if it meets their standards. I could be wrong, but that's my opinion.

And what's up with the |sf> ? :p

Can I ask you about that game..
1. Ranking system?
2. Game modes?
3. Connection?
I might buy it once it gets to a $30 price tag, since its 3rd party after all. All Wii games I have bought are +$50 and drain my wallet.

Oh, and this game looks good for the Wii. I've been praying for a shooter to get to this console.
