Soooo if you're like me and actually enjoy random villager house placement, I actually also enjoy letting random villagers move in. Not that I do it, because I've only ever done it a few times since the villager trade (which got me Beau, thankfully).

But I'm about to have 8 villagers and I really want someone random to move in. Not resetting, just to see who would move in. It's actually something I've wanted to do ever since I got Beau by chance.

Anyone else ever thought about this or took the risk? Do you think it's worth getting to know a random villager that you for once have no control over?

I had Stitches this way, but then I had Rocket and then Gigi.

It's SORTA worth it if you don't really care what Villagers you have.

Yeah I got Rocket too. I do mind what villagers I have but I feel I've become too controlling

I don't like restarting when I have eight villagers. It happens often since I rarely have ten villagers in my town. I've gotten pretty lucky with getting ninth villagers to move in. Usually when I go down to eight villagers it takes 7-9 days for someone to finally move in, which seems to be pretty uncommon. I've gotten Diana, Zucker, Skye, Ankha, and Julian as random move ins.

Good luck to you. It really is exciting to see who may move in. Especially since it isn't a huge deal. They won't be there forever unless you want them to be c:

Edit: Double post.

I do this all the time. I have been lucky so far to not have a villager move in a really bad spot. Even if I don't like a villager it just means I don't have to worry about the ones I do like moving when they ask. 5 days of safety! :D

Ever since I found out about the trick, I would do it at any possible moment. However, I would be alright with random villagers as long as I could choose where their house would be built. I probably wouldn't have grown to like O'Hare in my original town if I knew about the trick back then, but... it does allow me to having villagers I dislike move into my town. If in the next AC game you can choose where the house is placed, but not choose the villager, I would be totally down for that.

I like almost any villager so I'm cool with doing that.

I've always let random villagers move in. I want to meet as many of the villagers as possible. I only have 1 villager that I will never let move away, the rest I let move away after I get their picture (if possible). I don't care if they are cast-offs from a town that I have visited, campers or someone from the void, I don't Streetpass ANYONE :( ... all villagers are welcome in my town. I actually have 2 games/towns and it is the same in both. All Are Welcome.

I let anyone into my town too. I like the excitement of not knowing who is coming to live in my town. Keeps the game fresh.

I don't get villagers from other towns via trading or giveaways or whatnot. I let all my villagers move in 'naturally/by the luck of the draw'. I REALLY enjoy this for several reasons. For one, it's always exciting when you get to see which random villager moved in. And two, it's a nice way to have a town full of variety. A lot of towns have Julian, Marshal and Stitches. Not saying they're bad, in fact, all three are adorable, but yeah, a lot of towns have them. So it's sorta fun to have a Muffy, Claus, and Jay. They're different then the 'usual' and can be refreshing. And if a villager moves in randomly and you don't like them, it's whatever. Personally, I find it a lot more fun to have a nemesis in your town for pitfalls, funny-angry letters, hammer-bashing and whathaveyou.

Allowing random villagers to move in also allows for new friendships to be made, and for you to have new favorite villagers. So many people have set, specific dreamies that they PLAN for. Thus not allowing themselves to be familiar with the other wonderful ones the game has to offer. Maybe you hate Paula, but you got Cherry to move in instead from a giveaway. You probably would have eventually warmed up to Paula and developed a soft-spot for her that not many people have, but you stopped the friendship from growing when you convinced Cherry to move-in.

Again, it's not a bad thing to have set dreamies, or get your villagers from trades and giveaways, it's your choice. All I'm saying is that if you haven't given the random villager way a try, you should. It's exciting, mysterious, and incredibly fun. c:

Awesome!! Thanks for this. I see exactly what you mean.

I used to let them move in by chance before I started getting villagers from people here on TBT.
Though I can understand the fun of seeing a new plot up and being taken by a surprise when you see who it is.
I'd say Diana and Kid Cat were amongst my 'better' random move ins, but it been downhill from there haha.

i let anyone move into my town, as well. they were all keeperrs, except when i had too many jocks and had to make room for other personalities. i think i was very lucky, though. i never got someone i didn't wanted.

I have really bad luck so I don't even attempt it. I always choose who my villagers are as well as where their house goes.

I don't reset for house placement or for campers. People show up when/where they do.

I recently got Truffles by going down to 8 villagers. I don't mind her. She's probably my least favorite because I don't care for pigs, but she's not ugly or annoying or anything. I don't mind that she moved in.

Yeah. I got Hippeux.
So.. for now, it won't happen. After he leaves, Coco moves in, and I get Dizzy and Tipper's pictures, I'll let others move in randomly.
But no way am I letting them move wherever they want. No way.
