Day 18, and boy was it a strange one. So we decided to go eat out and see a movie today, simple enough? Well it started turning around bigtime. So we go to the Olive Garden for lunch and my mom and I order a pizza to split. When the waitress comes with the pizza, we notice it's a bit doughy so we decided to send it back to get it a bit crispier. We were polite about it, just a "Say, the pizza is a bit too doughy, mind zapping it a bit?" The waitress was very nerved about this, so she kept apologizing to us. So we just wait for our new pizza, which was already a bonus because I decided to try one piece of the doughy one. So, instead of three pieces, I ended up with four. Not much, but I wasn't starving. Anyway, she informs us that the pizzas will be free of charge--both of them. Two pizzas for nothing, suh-weet! We had gotten a five dollar gift card a few weeks earlier that was expiring today (usable for one entree) and since we weren't gonna pay for this, we decided to give it to a family sitting next to us. They were appreciative, which gave us a good feeling! Now the waitress comes to the table and is like "Sorry again for the first one, and sorry for this one too... It got a bit burned." By now we were a tad exasperated, so we said "No sweat." Then she told us that they had a third pizza in the oven that they would give to us, also free of charge. We were stuffed, so we ended up boxing it to take home. Now a bit later some other lady who worked there came, perhaps the manager or something, and handed us a gift card for TWENTY DOLLARS! All this just because we wanted our pizza a bit crispier! I think it was karma for sharing our first gift card, but who knows. So we get one pizza to eat, one to take home, and a twenty dollar gift card. Throwing in my dad and brother's foods, subtracting the money from the gift card, it was about a 9 dollar meal. I won't go in extreme detail about the rest of the day, but we went to Best Buy and bought some stuff (a guide and my bro got a DS game.) Then we went and saw Tron Legacy, which is a stupendous movie by the way. Then we went home. Pretty crazy day, but at least it gave me a good story to tell. Anyway, seeya tomorrow!
Question of the Day: What's your approach to receiving food at a resturaunt that's not good enough (like too cold, underdone, or wrong altogether!)
