This is just a basic summary of the new character from playing the game myself and reading the Japanese wiki for a list of characters. I will be using the Japanese names and they may change in the English versions.
I'm starting off with the "Big Sis" character, maybe to be called Cheerful.
>spoilers of dialogue<
I have Canberra in my town who is an orange Koala and a big sis type. I will describe this character using her as the example.

In this photo she's calling my Spanky-Jan! It's evening but have you come to eat?
She has a very definite accent in her way of speaking. Maybe an Osaka accent but I'd need to confirm that. It sounds very country like and could be translated as a southern American accent. (That's not confirmed just my suspicion from how other Osaka accents have been translated in animes I watch.)
Even her saying "Jan" instead of Chan is a give away at her having an accent. She also has an "Eh?" at the end of her sentence that is kind of similar to how a stereotypical country Australian speaks.

She's giving me a sly look while asking "See ta' thing is... I can't go out, I'm super busy, it's a bit embarrassing."
She then asked me to invite Pate the duck over for her, which I agreed.

"Yeah! Well then if ya please! I'll leave it to you! Eh?"

Wah! You brought her over! Spanky! Thanks!
After that, Canberra and Pate had a deep conversation about last night's soap opera. It had both their hearts beating from the romance. When the duck left I was thanked again and given a gift.
If anyone has a better idea of a neater translation I would appreciate it. I'm still learning my Japanese so there's some dialogue I don't quite get.
What I do get is a basic understanding, so for the big sis I can say that they are interesting. They are the laziest girl character. They get up at 11am! They seem like a female lazy but without the fun quirks of the male lazy. They're really kind and into fashion though they can be a little bossy and mean to the MC. It's definitely worth having another type of girl to make things interesting. My girl villagers from back in the GC always ended up being mostly snooty types!
(Using Japanese names translated from the katakana)
List of new characters with the Big sis type:
Squirrel: Iris, Goat: Barbara, Penguin: Leila, Pig: Agnes, Dog: Hanna, Rabbit:Mirako, Frog: Aida, Kangaro: Silvia, Bear: Charmy, Bear: Rachel, Koala: Canberra, Fawn: Nadia, Cub: Anette, Gorilla: #4, Rhino: Osai, Monkey: Sherry, Deer: Jessica, Ostrich: Hinoko, Cat: Choi, Sheep: Wendy, Sheep: Frill.
If anyone's interested I can update more conversations I have with the Koala and also do the same for the smug type as well.
