The New Flowers!

So, with the recent gameplay footage we now know of three new flowers: Windflowers, Hyacinths and Mums (chrysanthemums).

- Not much is known about Windflowers since there's not much footage of them, but from footage I did see you can purchase orange windflower seeds and there's an image of a red and white one.
- We've seen Hyacinths in red, white, purple and blue.
- We've seen white and red Mums. Likely to be yellow ones as well.

So, there we have it. Lots of flower variety these games!

And of course this adds to our carryover flowers of Roses, pansies, and tulips. However we haven't seen violets or cosmos (maybe lilies? Can't remember). While I'm not losing any sleep over cosmos going away, I will miss violets if they end up not making the cut!

Only one I'd really miss are cosmos since they're that "OG" stuff, but lilies and violets I wouldn't really miss much. They lacked in variation compared to the other flowers. Though I was pretty fond of orange lilies.

I’m so excited that they added hyacinths. We always had them in my backyard growing up, so I have a lot of good memories around hyacinths.

On the one hand I get the need to shorten chrysanthemums in-game to save everyone's screen turning into a book, on the other hand... I'm British, calling a flower 'mum' feels bizarre.

Always happy for new flowers though! Fingers still crossed for violets but I reckon hyacinths may have replaced them as they have such identical colour palettes.

Definitely seen screenshots of Cosmos, they're confirmed (and a little nicer to look at imo).

I can confirm that I just recently saw lilies in some of the new footage; either from the Direct last week, or those two short Japanese advertisements.

I'm glad there is more varieties of flowers, it will make gardening that much more fun. Also, I'm glad lilies are still in the game as well, as those are my favorite flowers. I don't recall seeing them, but I wonder if carnations are still going to be in the game? If so, will there be more colors of them besides pink, white, and red? You can see a yellow lily on the cover art, and carnations are likely going to return since the way you get them are likely the same as well. You just won't really see them in official media, since it needs to be obtained on a holiday.

I just hope violets make the cut, they were actually really nice in NL, particularly the blue ones. They haven't been shown anywhere yet, but lillies have.

I think the orange windflower is the default "yellow" for that variety, I was watching the direct the other day and I was making note of ALL the flowers, colors and hybrids that popped up, and I saw a pink windflower, but I never saw a proper "yellow" one grouped along the basic red and white one.

Oh yeah btw, in the direct, near the end, they showed yellow, pink and purple mums too.

I'm so excited about the flowers! There's going to be so many hybrids now though, so I wonder how long it will take for people to start collecting them all.

Just a little side note, I'm planning on opening a hybrid/gardening shop after the game comes out, and if anyone is interested in helping me out with growing hybrids and running the shop message me!
